Occasionally we get news of a serious problem with a new virus - this is one

such instance. Rest assured that any virus message posted on here by me has

been fully authenticated. You are reminded not to send such reports directly

to the list but to forward them to me for prior checking.

W32.Naked@mm is a mass-mailing worm disguised as a flash movie.

The attachment is named NakedWife.exe. If executed, it will

attempt to email everyone in the MS Outlook address book,

then will attempt to delete several Windows and Windows system

files. This will make your computer unusable, requiring a

complete re-install of Windows.

 

NOTE: This worm was previously known as W32.HLLW.JibJab (AT) mm (DOT)

 

When the infected file is executed by double-clicking it to

open it or right-clicking and opening it from the menu, it will

display a window that appears to be loading a Flash movie.

The window will display the words "JibJab." If you click the

"Help > About Windows" menu, the following message is displayed:

 

You're are now F***ED. © 2001 by BGK (Bill Gates Killer)

 

In the background, while the flash movie is "loading", this worm

sends itself to everyone in the Microsoft Outlook address book.

The message that this worm sends is as follows:

 

Naked Wife

 

Message Body:

 

"My wife never look like that! ;-)

Best Regards, (YOU)"

 

Where I show (YOU), will be whomever name was used when

Outlook was set up, making it appear to come from you.

 

Always excercise extreme caution when executable attachments

arrive in your inbox, no matter who they come from or how

trustworthy a message looks.

 

SARC has also received corrupted samples. The corrupted files

will be detected as W32.Naked.dam. The corrupted file will most

likely not cause any damage to your computer. It should be still

be deleted without attempting to open it.
