Sat Nam to all,

I work in a nursing home. Lots of older folks who are

sick and wait to die. There is a lot of suffering, and

negativity from staff, patients and relatives of

patients. I come home drained and exhausted most of

the time. Is there any special mediation I can

practise to help with this situation. Is there mantra

you can chant when someone dies.

Thank you,

Bernie

dies. Would you please send that to me again?

Here is a link to Gururattan's explanation of that, which I am doing

myself at the moment, having lost my wonderful feline companion of 21

years yesterday:

Sadhant-

I am sorry for your loss over the weekend, as a pet lover myself, they come

to have as much meaning as human friends do sometimes. Why not tell a bit

about him/her :)

Love and Blessings,

Deb

Dear Deb:

Thank you very much. I'd like to share a little about her (if you

don't want to hear about my cat, please feel free to delete this).

Sadie was a very long-haired tortoise-shell (her tail was as big

around as my arm, so she looked a lot bigger than she really was),

very friendly, very sweet. She always greeted me at the door when

I'd been away from home for more than an hour or two, and liked to

follow me around the house. She usually came in and did sadhana with

me in the morning (although she never did learn the words to "Rakhe

Rakhanahar :) and was always ready for relaxation time, often

creeping under the blanket to snuggle with me.

She died Sunday morning - she went easily, in her sleep. She'd been

fading these last couple of weeks, although still enjoying petting

and snuggling, but late Saturday afternoon she took a turn for the

worse. I decided it would be best to put her to sleep as soon as I

could get the vet, not wanting her to suffer, but she didn't wait.

She had an uncomfortable night, and I knew it wouldn't be long - I

lead a Sunday morning sadhana, and it was hard to leave her. When I

got home, she was still sleeping in the same position that she was in

when I left - I went to put away the groceries, and by the time I

returned she had stopped breathing. She had a very long and healthy

life (never needed a vet until she was 21, and he couldn't find

anything serious), and she brought me a lot of happiness.

Love to you all - and your pets,

Sadhant
