Hi Rose!

I love my neti pot too :)

Once or twice a day is the normal recommendation - first thing in the

morning, and perhaps again after getting home in the evening to clear

out dust and pollution.

If you have a cold, you can do it as often as 3-4 times a day, as

long you dry the nose well each time (and, of course, if this

frequency doesn't induce nose bleeds).

All blessings,

Sadhant

Hi Rose,

I suffer from sinus problems and when it gets bad I use the neti pot at

least twice a day, or sometimes three - depending how much out of hand

the sinus problem has got. I think for maintenance you need to use it at

least once a day. It's helpful to rub a little almond oil inside your

nostrils afterwards to prevent the tissues from drying out.

About a month ago I started using the neti pot and have been impressed by

the results of breathing much better. I feel like I am getting more out of

my practice as a result. However, for a week now I have noticed I have a

great deal a mucus due to the allergy season. My question is how often can

one use the neti? When is it too much? At present I have been using it

every other day in the evening. Thanks to those that respond!

Peace and Love,

Rose

hello!

The neti pot is a little pot in which you put (salty) water and clean

your nose in the morning. You pour water into one of your nostrils and

let it go out from the other one. In this way you eliminate bacterias,

free your nose and can breath better.

Dear Kristin,

You can probably use the neti pot even if you have a dry nose. But then you

need to put almond oil in your nostrils. That is just a drop to moisturize

the inside of the nose. We do this in New Mexico at summer solstice where

the air is very dry.

Sesame oil is good as well for this. Cold pressed... not toasted.. or you

will be smelling stir fry all day. hehe :oP

Yes! Also, when my nose is very dry I put inside some almond oil. Just

a bit, with my fingers. I do that also when I sleep in a very dry room.

It helps a lot. Try!
