Guest guest
Sat Nam to all, I live in the State of Pennsylvania and was really excited about starting my teacher training in January 2001. There are not that many teachers in my State (approximately 2 or 3). The closest teacher is a hours drive from where I live. I was informed that the training was postponed and will either start in the Fall of this year or some time next year. I've been practicing KY for three years now with the many videos that I have purchased and have participated in several KY retreats. My question is: Are there any home study courses that can be taken?.....e.g. 100 hours home study and 200 hours of KY treats? May all love surround you Sheila B. Guest guest
Sat Nam Sheila! >several KY retreats. My question is: Are there any home study AFAIK, your only choices are the Master's Touch in Espanola, or the regular teacher training courses. Sorry your local one didn't work out - perhaps this is a sign that you will get to go to Espanola. One advantage of the MT is that you get the whole thing done in 2 weeks (17 days, actually). Many blessings, Sadhant
Guest guest
Sat Nam Sadhant, Thank you for your response! You are so right about my going to Espanola. I just received my 3HO brochure in the mail and couldn't decide if I wanted to take the Master Touch I or Master Touch II Training or if I should go at all. I'm thinking that I may get a little home sick after the first week 17 days is a long time to be away from home for me, although MT II is only for a week). But I'm ready to become a certified KY teacher, and the need is great in the State of PA. Thank you. Many blessings Sheila B. Guest guest
Sat Nam. Hi All, and especially Sheila in PA. I have been taking the Master's Touch 1 in Millis (Boston) MA since Oct. and will finish in June. I've been driving or flying from the Pgh PA area (1,200 mi. round trip) for each class. I can attest to the fact that the training is enlightening and strengthening in many many way. One thing I'm wondering is WHO is doing KY in the Pgh area? Anyone? When I moved here from Dallas a short while ago, I was surprised to find no one doing KY; I agree with Sheila, there is a need in PA (Western PA). I believe there is a group in the Philly area that does teacher training. All love surround you, Angad Kaur (Pam Walker)
Guest guest
Dear Cristina, Sheila, and other interested teachers: Master's Touch (or teacher training) level 1 is required to become a certified (level 1) teacher. You can take level 2 modules (there are 4) before you do this, but they won't count for accreditation until you complete level 1. So, you have to complete all 4 level 2 modules and, of course, the level 1 course, to be a level 2 teacher. The level 1 course is 17 days in Espanola, but you then must complete a take-home exam which includes things like completing a 40-day set. When the exam is graded you will get your teaching certification. Many blessings to all, Sadhant
Guest guest
Sat Nam Just to be sure: after taking the 17 days one becomes a certified instructor? Guest guest
Where in Pennslyvania do you live? It is a big state! I am currently teaching in Northern Philadelphia. I would love to attend an event in Espanola, but I am tied to my children (four and eight months) right now. I am sure it is wonderful! Guest guest
I've lived in Delaware County, PA (Secane) for approximately 15 years and just recently purchased a home in Aldan....both Cities are on the outskirt of Philadelphia (a 15 minute drive). I'm going on a weekend yoga retreat in June which will include classes taught by Ravi Singh and a weekend retreat in August with Gurmukh. I'm seriously considering Espanola. Guest guest
The KY works! I was reading Sheila's posting about looking for KY in Pennsylvania and I was about to share with her that my friend Angad (a lovely lady in my teacher training class) comes all the way from PA to Millis, MA to attend, and suddenly, a response from her appeared!
