Guest guest
I would like to get some suggestions on books on the theology, philosophy or methodolgy for Kundalini yoga and its long time practioners. I thoroughly enjoy reading your online lessons Gururattan. As well as the other supplements you produce. I read some of them and it seems you are speaking directly to what I need to know. Especially the one on addiction. I kept saying "YES! Exactly!" And they also make me ask more questions and curious about things I have never considered. I would love to read more on many areas such as becoming comfortable with the polarities of life, karma, darma, the neutral mind and many other aspects of daily living. Have you ever thought of or have you wrote a book that combines the knowledge you have in many of these areas? I'd love to have something as reference when faced with lifes "good sense of humor", shall we say. Sat nam, Deb
Guest guest
Dear Deb, > I would like to get some suggestions on books on the theology, philosophy or methodolgy for Kundalini yoga and its long time practioners. This is a little different than what you asked for but the books by Ken Wilbur are very interesting. The short version is A Short History of Everything. And the tomb which took him 6-8 years to write is something like Sexuality, Spirituality and Consciosness. (not sure of last word.) In my academic moments I would like to teach a course from this book. I thoroughly enjoy reading your online lessons Gururattan. As well as the other supplements you produce. This is good. > I would love to read more on many areas such as becoming comfortable with > the polarities of life, karma, darma, the neutral mind and many other aspects of daily living. Have you read the Mind and its Fascets by Yogi Bhajan? > > Have you ever thought of or have you wrote a book that combines the knowledge you have in many of these areas? Yes, I think about writing books all the time. I have a lot of unpublished books that cover these topics. Thanks for asking. Guest guest
Dear fellow readers: > > I would like to get some suggestions on books on the theology, > philosophy > or methodolgy for Kundalini yoga and its long time practioners. There are several "classical" yoga books, along with the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali: the Gheranda Samhita, the Shiva Samhita, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, and the Gorakshashatakam. These works probably form the foundation of most modern writings. You might want to explore SpiritWeb, which has lots of resources and references about different yoga paths - you'll get lots of book ideas if you go cruising around this site. Start at: <http://www.spiritweb.org/> And select "Yoga Paths". In particular, don't miss this: <http://www.spiritweb.org/Spirit/hamstra.html> I like to re-read that from time to time for inspiration. > like Sexuality, Spirituality and Consciosness. (not sure of last I'm sure GKK means "Sex, Ecology, Spirituality" - a wonderful book! I would also throw in Talbot's "The Holographic Universe", Grof's "The Holotropic Mind", Wolfe's "The Dreaming Universe", Hofstradter's "Godel, Escher, Bach", and the book that started it all for me, Pirsig's "Zen & the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" (and if you liked that, you have to read the sequel, "Lila"). Ah, so many books, so little time... Love to all, Sadhant
