Guest guest
Greetings group, May I butt into the group and ask a quick question? I have just ordered a DVD called KY with Grace and Strength---I know it's kind of late, but does anyone own this particular video, and what do you think of it? I am somewhat of a beginner and have no classes in my area, so it looks like I will have to go the video route. Wish me luck in my training. Thanks, Malcolm Wagner Hammond, Louisiana

I'm also a beginner with the same sort of issue. I had taken a few classes in Austin, TX, but was unable to find any active in my area. I was just happy when I found a video at all, so I took a chance. In comparison to the classes I attended, the video was a little more challenging pose-wise (and the music not as good -- but I ordered the 'Morning Glory' CD to play along with it). The exercises/meditations seem to be fairly general and across the board (a broad introduction isn't a bad thing), but I think touch the major points. For more specific work, I purchased Yogi Bhajan's "Introduction to Kundalini Yoga", which has a full range of beginning poses, meditations, etc. Until I find a teacher/class in my area, I certainly think the video is a good first step. All the best and, of course, good luck in your training! This was my introduction to ky and is a great and thourough practice. Also, Kundalini Yoga with Gurmukh is excellent and a little more aerobic with less emphasis on meditation.
