Guest guest
Hey all, Aurora Alert: Aurora Alert! April 13, 2001 15:00 CDT A coronal mass ejection (CME) hit Earth's magnetosphere between 0730 and 0800 UT (3:30 am and 4:00 am EDT) on Friday, April 13th. The impact sparked a strong geomagnetic storm, which is slowly subsiding. If you're an aurora-enthusiast and you missed Friday morning's show, don't worry -- another CME is on the way. The expanding cloud, hurled into space by an X2-class solar flare on April 12th, could arrive late Friday or (more likely) Saturday and spark a new round of intense geomagnetic activity. Sky watchers located at geomagnetic latitudes higher than ~50 degrees should remain alert for Northern Lights. Source: SpaceWeather Press Release Hope this energized field can be assimilated by all of us, and doesn't crimp our auras. I'd like to hear if any of the Northern lati-tude types (Seattle,Montana,Canada) get a good view of tonight's "Northern Lights" show. If anyone is interested in the 2000-2002 crop of sunspots and ejections they might want to check out the Navy's Solar Orbiting Helio- sphere Satellite or SOHO at: <http://lasco-www.nrl.navy.mil/rtmovies.html> Are there practical things that yogis can do to cope with this unusually high level of electromagnetic energy? Guest guest
Sat Nam Everyone, A few months ago I recall Yogi Bhajan talking about keeping your aura strong to get through the solar activity. Try working with sets to strengthen the aura. Blessings Siri Ram K.
Guest guest
That is so cool that you had that experience. I remember seeing the northern lights once outside of Buffalo, NY. My husband thought I was crazy, but I think we did see them. It was a while back. I have been reading some about this solar activity and thinking about what yoga would go well with it. First I thought of Surya Kriya and solar energy, but now I am being drawn to work with electromagnetic energy as that is what I understand this interaction between the sun and earth to be. I am wondering what others on this list think about it. WOW! I live on a mountaintop farm in Vermont with zero light pollution, and last night the show was absolutely awe-inspiring. I hope you don't mind this slightly off-topic message, because I'd like to share my experience. If you've never seen the Northern Lights, it is like seeing the aura of the whole world at once, which is incredibly energizing. I wish you all could see this. I didn't get your post until Monday am, because I was away over the weekend, so I thought I'd missed it. But at about 2:00 am EST my husband and I went outside, and the sky was on fire - bright turquoise and pinks. I haven't seen an aurora for several years, and this is among the most active fields I've seen ever. There was so much activity that it looked like a light show from a 1970's rock concert! The northern horizon was brilliant, of course. The fingers of light were streaking across the sky and formed a dome directly over our heads - nearly closing the gap, even in the southern sky, and it constantly sent flashes through the sky like a silent lightening storm. I felt very alive - and I wanted to dance. (except that it was 2:30 am after a very long day Can anyone recommend a meditation for bringing in some of this universal energy?
