It is true this can be confusing because there are a number of stretch

poses. The one people usually refer to as "the" stretch pose is this:

Lie on your back on a hard surface (on the floor for ex.), raise your arms

slightly above your hips, fingers pointing towards your toes but don't touch

the hips or legs, and then raise both your head and your feet about 6 inches

off the floor. Keep your legs straight. As people have noted in previous

messages, it helps a lot to contract your stomach muscles when doing this

pose. This pose is usually done with breath of fire in the morning (a very

rapid breath through the nose, about 1 complete inhale/exhale per second).

Try to keep the pose for 1-3 minutes. Your body might start shaking after a

while, but this is okay.

A somewhat easier version of this pose is to have your palms under the

buttocks while doing this pose for better support. This pose is great for

the navel center, to help you build both physical and nervous strength. This

pose should be avoided though by people who are pregnant or have had recent

abdominal surgery or similar problems.

Have fun : )!

Peace and blessings,

Satsang Kaur
