Guest guest
Namaste all, I was very pleased to find out about this group; I have been keenly interested in KY since I started meditating about 25 years ago. Since then, I have had many wonderful spiritual experiences, but never a classic kundalini awakening until January 1st of this year. I am a devotee of Shiva, and in the past five years have managed to repeat the mantra "Om Namah Shivaya" literally millions of times in an attempt to finally awaken the kundalini. I was very discouraged because the only thing that happened was that sometimes in my dreams I can fly (I am pretty sure this was a result of the japa). On January 1st, I was sitting on my bed and my frustration reached a peak. I then had an inspiration - I have always worshipped Shiva as formless Consciousness, and I suddenly decided to worship Him in a personal way as if He is a real being on Mt. Kailas. I prayed to Him with all my heart "Lord, won't you please awaken my kundalini?" I then layed down, and immediately noticed heat in my spine. Over the next half hour, the heat became so intense that it was almost unbearable, and then I had a vision of Babaji who is spoken of in Paramahamsa Yogananda's book "Autobiography of a Yogi" He looked just like the picture in the book, and had a rising sun in front of Him. I consider Him now to be a living form of Lord Shiva, and I am profoundly grateful for the awakening of the kundalini after almost twenty-five years of waiting. I feel this intense heat in the spine about three times a week, almost always when laying down, and so far there has been no experiences of deep absorption or bliss - just heat. I have managed to get to the point where I can bear it for about an hour, and then I roll over and go to sleep. As soon as I can't take any more, the heat stops. Looking forward to exploring KY with the group - Respectfully, Karl Baumler
Guest guest
Dear Karl & Group, I have been practicing Kundalini Yoga on and off for 7 years. In the past year I had a Kundalini experience when it awakened and shot up my spine and opened a window into a light of incredible love. It came as a sonic boom and lasted for what seemed a millionth of a second. Then during a meditation the next day I had a visit from the divine mother. It was multi dimensional and made of pure light with colors that were so precious. Since then I have not had any experience -- until now, as I read Karls letter. My spine became very hot and still is as I write this. What it this? Has anyone else experienced this? I feel an intensed love with it. I wasn't looking for it when I read Karls letter. Thank you Karl, Love, Debbie kb2uug wrote: > Namaste all, > > I was very pleased to find out about this group; I have been keenly > interested in KY since I started meditating about 25 years ago. Guest guest
Thanks for all your insightful information. As I stated early I am new to yoga. I spoke with an instructor a few days ago and he suggested that I start with Kundalini Yoga first. I have been experiencing body pain for a number of years. My doctor believes I have fibromyalgia. I have avoided pain medications throughout my life. Now that I am getting older the pain is more intense. I refuse to use pain medications, that is definitely my last opinion. I believe that yoga will work for me because it deals with my mental as well as my physical health. Once, I again I thank you, for being here for me.
