Guest guest
Sat Nam All! I have a question regarding Sat Kriya and other kriyas that require rock pose. I am unable to sit on my feet due to a hammer toe I acquired from 25 years of distance running. I've tried pillows, cushions everything. I usually do Sat Kriya in easy pose. My feeling is that this is effective , but less effective than rock pose. Does anyone of any information on this? I've been practicing kundalini yoga for several years and love it. I enjoy this group tremendously . I enjoy this group >tremendously . You are quite correct: the effects of Sat Kriya will not be as strong or as precise when using sukasan (easy pose). This is because of the different angle & movement of the pelvis. One of the actions of Sat Kriya is to balance the lower three chakras by mixing prana and apana at the navel center, generating a heat (tapas) and opening the inner channels to the upward flow of energy. The slightly different angle of easy pose is still excellent for digestive troubles and transcending fear, but is not quite as effective for mixing the chakra energies as is the ideal form. You have probably tried this trick as well, but some people find it helpful to slip a rolled-up blanket or pillow between their feet to reduce pressure on the knees, which also reduces the pressure on the feet. Many blessings, Sadhant
Guest guest
Dear Larry, > I have a question regarding Sat Kriya and other kriyas that require rock pose. I am unable to sit on my feet due Sat kriya can also be done in lotus pose and on the back in celebate pose. Sit in celebate pose with the hips on the floor and the legs by the sides of the hips, then lead back on the floor. Raise the arms up above the heart center. If your response is "Thanks a lot!" then how about using a meditation stool like the Buddists use or a computer stool that you sit on your legs bent? You could get a good angle from these. I sat once on a computer chair that put me directly into meditation. The angle was just right for me. Sat Nam, Gururattan Kaur
Guest guest
Sat Nam, Try folding your arms in a bit by moving at the arm pits in. This might help. Do what you can and then relax.
