Guest guest
Please would you tell me how to breath during Sat Kriya. I have studied Hatha Yoga for a year and usually - breath in abdomen out and vice versa. However my instinct is to breath in for Sat and out for Nam . I have read this site for around three months and find it really inspiring, the new Web site is wonderful-thank you so much. I have studied Hatha Yoga for a year and usually - breath in abdomen out and vice versa. However my instinct is to breath in for Sat and out for Nam . Your instinct is right! All meditations with Sat Nam are done with Sat on the inhale and Nam on the exhale. Actually, the breath in Sat Kriya is supposed to be done naturally, "as it comes". The difference is that on the inhale (when you say Sat) you also pull the navel in. To get the hang of it it would perhaps be easier to concentrate on the exhalation (exhale on Nam and relax the abdomen), and if you do it fairly rapidly the inhale will concide with Sat and pulling in the navel point. It is best not to think about the inhalation and instead let it happen naturally. Many blessings and Sat Nam! Satsang Kaur

I have studied Hatha Yoga for a year and usually - breath in abdomen out and vice versa. However my instinct is to breath in for Sat and out for Nam . Hello Fran, Here is how I do it: In Sat Kriya, when you say Sat, you must pull the navel center in toward the spine; so, my natural action is to exhale at this time. My next natural tendency is to inhale through the mouth just before relaxing the navel center and saying Nam. When I say Nam my belly is out. This is just to give you an idea. Not everybody do it the same way. Just relax your breathing.
Guest guest
Hi All, I use the videos my Nirvair Singh Khalsa in which he does breathing exercises and kriyas including Sat Kriya. Of course I am not conditioned enough to last the 3 minutes because my arms get tired but I pratice makes perfect. I like the his videos because I have a better understanding visually then by trying to understand the technique in writting. Hope this bit of insight helps! Guest guest
Sangeet Kaur, I have done several 40-day runs od Sat Kriya for 11 minutes a day since the first of the year and the benefits interms of health and sense of well-being have been fantastic. It seems to create a steady gentle swell of energy that keeps me bouyed up during the day. Flus and colds have run through our household (the others in the family do not do yoga), but I have not succumbed. When my energy is flagging during the day, I only need to gently tune in to feel the support of the energy. Tuning in is virtually effortless because the reservoir of energy is always there. I decided this morning that I want to continue to do Sat Kriya every morning indefinitely because the benefits only seem to steadily increase. Good Luck in your effort!
