Hi Tabata and list,

This is a long shot, but since you are from Brazil, have you ever

heard of Rickson Gracie of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu-fame? He sites one of

the keys to his success ,in the Jiu-Jitsu tournament scene, to his

daily practice of Yoga. Is Yoga very popular in Brazil?

Anyone else on the list practice Martial Arts?

Mal,

As a matter of fact I know almost the entire family!!

Their way of teaching is amazing, and I took some of their classes with

Relson Gracie in Hawaii when I lived there.

Yoga is very big in Brazil. For a fact they practice a kind of yoga now

that I am yet to find here, which is called Swasthya Yoga.

My mother is in town visiting from Brazil and just the other day she was

telling me how it has been growing into people to practice yoga! Also, in

Brazil, there are a lot of surfers and my mom was interviewing some of them,

and most do admit that part of their success is yoga and eating healthy.

I am very excited to have found this wonderful list and friends as well that

are helping me begin my journey!!!

differant arts for about 20 years spent most of my time in Aikido.

Hi Andy,

I think this (like anywhere;-) is a perfect place to discuss martial

arts, but also realize this is only my opinion. One small note, the

Chinese Martial arts came from India. I suspect that Indian Martial

Arts utilize Yoga (for internal strength) in the same manner that

Chinese arts use Chi-Gong. The Chakras are the same in any language--

-anyway, I have managed to tie two of my favorite pastimes into one

common heritage. (Smile)

Aikido---"The Harmonious Way of Life", I wonder what O'Sensei would

have thought of Kundalini?

Tabata,

You asked:

"Where are you?? What state??"

Tranquility of course;-)

Sorry, couldn't resist. I hail from the Mighty Sovereign-Country of

Louisiana---lucky me;-)
