Guest guest
hello all- i was wondering if anyone knew where i could find an online source to find "sat nam" in gurmukhi? i would like to make a carry-around with me reminder, kind of like a wallet card or something, to keep with me and focus on when i begin to get stressed out and forget my highest truth. I am also thinking about getting it tattooed on my body, but am wondering if there would be a more or less auspicious place to place this very permanent reminder! also, i was wondering if anyone could help me with this question: i am moving to bloomington, indiana, to begin graduate work there. it isn't exactly a haven of yoga, although many years ago there was a yoga ashram there run by devotees of Swami Muktananda. I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to keep up with my ky practice, but then i heard that there was indeed a kundalini yoga class offered once a week. The problem? IKYTA doesn't list any of their trained teachers in Bloomington, IN, or even close; I am a little skeptical of where and how this teacher might have been trained in KY. Should I be? Are there other ways to be trained in this science? Am thinking of beginning a 40-day prosperity meditation. Today will be my second day...i just keep thinking "small steps"! blessings and thanks to you all... jessie
Guest guest
Hi Jessie, When Yogi Bhajan first came to the states the teachers he sent out were not formally trained - certainly having formal training is a very good thing but there are teachers out there who for one reason and another have not gone through the training yet and are still competant. A good question to ask would be how long the person has been practicing yoga - my personal preference would be for someone who had been practicing for a long time versus a new person who went ahead and did the training. You could go to the class and see if you like it - that is the very best way to find out if the teacher suits you or not. The teaching is transferred through the consciousness of the teacher so where 'they are at' in that sense is the most important thing. hope this helps, Sat Nam , Avtar K ______________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO!
