Guest guest
I am new to the group and came in on the middle of things. What is shankprakshalana and how do I do it? Blessings, Mary
Guest guest
Sat Nam friends: > What is Shankprakshalana????? It is a stomach- and colon-cleansing technique wherein one drinks salt water, and performs certain movements to move the water swiftly through the stomach and colon. AFAIK, this is not a KY practice, and either way it is not a cleansing practice which I would recommend experimenting with without qualifed instruction. I would guess that you can get the benefits of this using enemas, colonics, and (for the stomach cleansing part) the "Elephant Kriya", which YB has taught (also called jala dhauti), where one swallows plenty of salted water and then regurgitation is caused, using uddiyana or, if necessary, a finger to tickle the back of the throat. Anyone on a low sodium diet would want to avoid shankprakshalana or jala dhauti for obvious reasons. Many blessings, Sadhant P.S. If this seems like a re-post to some, it is - I'm guessing the last one was not received by some members, based on the continuing questions
