Guest guest
Hi, I have heel pain too, it started when I took a job in a kitchen where I am on my feet a lot. Another woman at work had it and said it was called plantar fasciitis. It is related to the tendon that goes all the way from the toes to the heel and up the back of the leg. It especially happens to women who once wore high heels and now work on their feet. I never wore high heels but have always had low arches. What helps, if this is the problem, is to have good arch support and you can buy squishy heel pads to protect the heel. Mine comes and goes depending on how much I work. My yoga teacher showed me some moves that strengthen the arch of the foot. Stand with legs apart, about shoulder width, and gently move the knee out over the foot, weight will go to the outer edge of the foot. Sit with your feet resting on a towel or a piece of fabric and pull or grab the fabric toward you with your toes. Also stretching out that life nerve up the back of the leg. You can get foot support products from FootSmart catalog, their website is www.footsmart.com hope that helps, Sat Nam Peggy Sue
Guest guest
Hi everyone, This called my attention because I have heel pain too, but it's of a different nature: it seems to be more related to the skin than the inner structure, I feel it when I rest on my heels, like when I lie on my back in bed or even resting after kriya or meditation, when the back of my heels are against the floor/surface. I have the feeling it's because I have callused heels, the pain started when I had surgury once and had to lay in bed for a while, then I got really bad calluses on my heels. Any advice? Guest guest
Dear Patty, > I have the feeling it's because I have callused heels, > the pain started when I had surgury once and had to > lay in bed for a while, then I got really bad calluses > on my heels. A massage therapist taught me to use a double edged razor on my feet after soaking me feet in a bath, swimming or foot bath. At first I was very apprehensive to use a razon on my feet. But this is a fabulous tip. Where I have calluses on my feet, the razor on soaked skin takes the dead skin off. I do it every couple of weeks. Stock up on razors.
