Guest guest
Shahzad: http://healing.miningco.com/health/healing/library/weekly/aa001215c.htm In the article above Gurmukh Khalsa puts down the chakras and its related human talents, colour, shadow emotion and element. For the first chakra the human talent is Acceptance. Does this mean that the first chakra will arise once the person has perfected the art of acceptance. What is it that we have to accept and how do i perfect this art? Thanking you all in advance. Have a peaceful life....... Mail Personal Address - Get email at your own domain with Mail. For the >first chakra the human talent is Acceptance. Does this mean that the >first chakra will arise once the person has perfected the art of >acceptance. What is it that we have to accept and how do i perfect >this art? This article is an excerpt from her book, "The Eight Human Talents", which I definitely recommend. As she explains very beautifully in it, yoga is primarily about self-acceptance - and that means all of ourself: physical, emotional, spiritual. The practice of yoga and meditation is really the first step in learning self-acceptance, and working on exercises which stimulate the root chakra will help with the practice of acceptance. You can find examples of such exercises in her book, and many others: these exercises include mulbhand (root lock), crow squats, and spinal flex. You can also find complete kriyas to work on this (and every) chakra. At the same time, practicing the acceptance of everyone around us (truly, aspects of ourselves) will accelerate the process. Accept your friends, family, co-workers, everyone you meet. Accept the world as it is, and you as you are right now. Even accept your inability to accept everyone. Accept the wonderful gift of this yoga. Love & blessings, Sadhant
Guest guest
I am teaching a series on the chakras, and have found Gurmukh's book to be great resource. In teaching the first chakra, I used the "Meditation into Being" with the mantra "I am, I am"--a merger of the finite self with the infinite. It seemed an acceptance of the "rightness" of our spirit having taken on physical form. I'd like some feedback on use of this meditation for this chakra, and alternate ideas. I also found this chakra difficult to find sets for--other than the elimination sets. Any suggestions? many thanks, sukhmani - Sadhant Singh Kundaliniyoga Friday, June 08, 2001 8:06 AM Re: human talent and chakra Sat Nam! > In the article above Gurmukh Khalsa puts down the chakras and its >related human talents, colour, shadow emotion and element. Here is a list of sets for the chakras from the teacher's guide that I posted a while ago: <Kundaliniyoga/message/4432> The guide also provides a meditation for each chakra (the same meditations are also found in "Physical Wisdom" and "Meditation as Medicine"). Sat Kriya is good for the root chakra, and and "Meditation as Medicine" supplies some others as well. Love & many blessings, Sadhant
Guest guest
I'm teaching a chakra series too! :~) We just did the second chakra last night. For the first I used the elimination set from Sadhana Guidelines. It is a rather far out set and I think it is quite appropriate for a first chakra class. The tail wagging exercise is very cool. I used a meditation from _Transitions..._. I can't think of what it was called right now and I can't get up because I'm nursing, but it had three or so parts and there was "la" chanting and meditation on the first chakra and obsessions involved. For the second chakra I used a set out of _Seven Days Seven Rays_ by Ravi Sing. It was the Friday set, the "Love From Above" I beleave. There was a second chakra focus as being a source of energy and foundation and intuition. There is a good set in _An Inner Workout_ woman's manual too that Sadhant mentioned I think called "Foundation for Infinity". I've never taught a set out of that book, though because it's a woman's manual. Does anyone think those sets are appropriate for men too? My husband was the one who originally bought the book because he liked the sets and then he realized it was a woman's manual and so never used it. That sounds like Maha Shakti Pranayam > that Sadhant mentioned I think called "Foundation for Infinity". However, this set is actually recommended for the 7th chakra. >I've never taught a set out of that book, though because it's a >woman's manual.
