It's the only way to really find out if you like to practice Yoga in a (that) group or not. It's no problem to sometimes also watch the other participants practicing while you are within a beginners group (most ppl do that) and often you will have to watch the teacher to understanding the exercises. But mostly you will have to be aware of your own body, feelings, etc. and watch yourself in order to find out how it feels and if you really like it and become aware of the benefits it has to you. To find out if you like to practice Yoga at all you can also use the large variety of books and videos that are offered. Watching Yoga in order to find out if you like it is like watching a massage in order to find out if you can enjoy it. :-) Watching a group while practicing Yoga to find out if you like practicing Yoga with this group is like watching a football-team in order to find out if you like playing with those ppl :-)) I think you'll have to step into the water a bit ...
