I would like to know something about when a person has a complete kundalini

awakening during meditation----

I have read that when this happens a persons body becomes stiff and cold

and that they can remain out of their body for several days...

I have also read that for some the experience can be terrifying.

Since this is the ultimate goal of Kundalini yoga I would like to clear

up any misconceptions that I may have.

m,

>From my own research, awakening of the kundalini can happen a right way and

a wrong way. Most important is the neck lock, which prevents the onset of

disconnected/depressed feeling after a premature awakening. This info is not

from my own experience but from the experience of others I have read about.

The best I can gather is that the 'athletic' attitude toward KY and

meditation can be the cause of a premature awakening, and that if the three

locks are not applied then kundalini will not rise up the central channel

(the spine), but will take alternate routes. One person wrote on a chat room

that he has had a headache for over a year as a result of premature

awakening.

If I may turn this response into a question, I would like to know what is

the proper attitude / mindset toward awakening one's kundalini? and also

what particular routines / exercises are best for helping one toward this

experience?
