Guest guest
Some of the information I have read warns that women should not practice KY when menstruating. Why would this be? I have never had any trouble or refrained from any activity during this time. Thank you, Heidi
Guest guest
Sat Nam Heidi, > Some of the information I have read warns that women should not practice KY when menstruating. Why would this be? I have never had any trouble or refrained from any activity during this time. That is fortunately not true. How could us women complete a 40-day set if it were true, not to mention a 1000-day set? The recommendations I know of say during that period women should (if possible) avoid Sat Kriya, stretch pose, mul bhand, and heavy abdominal exercises (such as double leg lifts), and also cold showers. If your sadhana set includes these AND you feel fine doing them, then you don't have to stop. However for many women these exercises during their period can cause fatigue, abdominal pain and other unwanted side effects. It is a recommendation, not a prohibition by all means. I find that if I do the above exercises slowly and without straining I don't have any problems, also I actually like cold showers so much that I wouldn't want to skip them. But this can be different from person to person and it is important to pay attention to your own body and respect its needs. I hope this helps clarify the issue a bit. Many blessings, Satsang Kaur
