Guest guest
Dear Satsang Kaur, I hope you are able to shed some light on my recent experiences. Until recently, I have had no knowledge of Kundalini and little of the Chakras. I have been practicing a mantra based meditation on a regular basis since October, 2000. I had been making great strides I believe, along a spiritual path. Several months ago I began to experience sensations in different areas of my body during my meditations. First, in the area of the solar perplexes, later around the area of the heart, and still later, throughout my torso. Often, these sensations would be more intense around one area or another, or they might be systemic throughout the torso. Over time, the sensations often became very intense. However, we were always pleasurable, in fact, often extremely so. There were times when I would sit in silence for an hour or more after my meditations simply enjoying these feelings. Perhaps two months ago I began to feel sensations also in the area of the head, especially around the temples. This also was not a bad sensation. During last month, the sensations in the area of the temples became more intense to the point where it felt like my head was in a vice. After my meditations I often will now have a headache, sometimes a very intense one in the area of my left frontal lobe that will last for hours. I have tried decreasing the duration of my meditations from 30 minutes to 20 minutes, and from twice to once a day. This it seemed to diminish the intensely of the sensations. Two days ago I increased my meditations to 30 minutes twice a day. The sensations also increased this time in the temples, the center my forehead, and a little higher than that, but not the top of my head. The sensations are approaching a point where I might call them painful and the last for several hours. Perhaps a month ago I did some research on the Net and found look Kundalini Yoga site. The sensations of I have been experiencing in the locations seem to conform to your description of Kundalini and what I have been able to find out about the Chakras. I am hoping this is not what you called, the other the day, a Kundalini horror story or at least not the beginnings of one. I sincerely hope you or anyone else can shed some light on this experience. I have little knowledge of this, and I'm becoming very concerned. I would like to continue with my meditations and my Spiritual development. Many blessings, Glenn
Guest guest
Sounds like you've come across an energy block of some kind. There can be a lot of stress held in the parasympathetic which when encountered but not released tends to shut you down a lot. You might find it helpful to focus lightly on the feelings and ask yourself: what's this about?, and try to witness what arises. I've also found the pranayam, inhaling through left nostril-exhaling through right nostril, helpful in these cases.
