Guest guest
Sat Nam! > 1>INHATHA YOGA BOOKS,THEY MENTIONED ONLY THE SIX CHAKRAS. Hatha Yoga (at least the modern form of it) consists mostly of physical postures, and not much meditation. There are no asanas for the 7th (Crown) chakra. The only exercises we have in KY are in fact meditations such as you probably won't find in modern Hatha Yoga. > 2>IN ATHARVAVEDA ITISSAID TO BE OFEIGHT CHAKRAS ANDNINE DOORS ONE. The aura is sometimes called the 8th chakra, even though it is not an energy center like the other chakras but more of an energy field. The nine doors are still nine in Kundalini Yoga. Sometimes we talk about the tenth gate (this is again the crown chakra), but only in more advanced stages. > 3>IN OTHER BOOKS OFTANTRA 10,11,12 CHAKRAS ARE MENTIONED .WHAY ITISSO? Some philosophies add the "lower chakras" to the classic chakra list. These are the centers below the muladhara at the base of the spine, and are the home of "bad" qualities: hate, jealousy, baseness, ignorance and the like. While the chakras above the muladhara are ruled by different deities, the chakras below are said to be ruled by demons. Many yoga paths assume though that if someone gets interested in yoga at all they live at least at the level of the muladhara chakra and not below - so we really have to work with the chakras above the muladhara. > WHICHONE IS CORRECT ? CAN ANYONE SATISFY ME. As I understand it, there is no "correct" way to look at it as such. We need to remember that chakras are a human concept as well, and it is a way to put names on things that are otherwise too subtle and complex for us to deal with without simplifying them. This terminology is there for us to understand the "idea" and be able to communicate about it. It is not reality itself. So perhaps we should not worry about it too much. Many blessings, Satsang Kaur
