Hello,

My name is Shelley. I am new to the group. I just wanted to introduce myself.

I know very little of Kundalini yoga, and wish to practice it. I am currently a

smoker of 10 years. I found the past few days very interesting, hearing how

many people are ex-smokers with the help of kundalini. That is great. I hope

to achieve this very soon. I cannot stand smoking anymore. It's those crazy

nicotine fits that I am weak to. At any rate, I am starting to meditate,

practice Reiki, and I am searching for a kundalini yoga teather right now. Is

there anyone in this group from the Cleveland, Ohio area? Shelley

Hi Shelley,

I think it's great that you've realized the truth about

smoking, it is one of those slow suicides. I was a smoker

and once I awakened my Kundalini my lifestyle has changed

naturally. My kundalini now is taking me through cleansing

state (from negativity and ignorance of my health). I just

wanted to encourage you to teach yourself if you dont find

a teacher, the kundalini training online

www.kundaliniyoga.org

is very helpful. From my point of view and experience, all

the training you really need is LOVE,

love to you,

maria.

I'm there with you on the verge of quitting. In Ravi Singh's video "Naval

Power", he says, "Strengthening the naval will give you the ability to say no

to yourself." Keep up the faith.

I quit smoking when I moved into my first 3HO Ashram 30 years ago. The desire

to smoke left me entirely and I never looked back.

Sat Nam exsmoker!

I had smoked for 36 years :-( . I found it nearly impossible to quit. I

had tried many times and many ways. What finally worked for me was an

understanding of my addiction. I hope I can effectively explain this. I

had to understand that I really wanted to stop smoking. However, the other

part of me just wanted to be satisfied with the nicotine. This included the

physical, emotional, and mental (psyhe). So what I was instructed to do

when the urge to smoke came about was to acknowledge that I did not want

to smoke but "it" did. I would say to my self or aloud: "I never smoke and

I will never change my mind!". Once I could understand this dichotomy, I

was able to feel a greater sense of control; it was easier to learn to love

myself and lose the guilt. In a way one could say this is part of Sat

Nam.Well, maybe:-)). I got this from a book titled 'Rational Recovery' by

Jack Trimpey. I hope this helps. It worked for me.
