Guest guest
Sat nam everyone. I dont remember who sent that website about the herb salvia divinorum, I've been reading up on it. I do use sage incense in my home to repel any negative entities or forces. However, I don't take any psychoactive drugs to enhance my levels of consciousness during meditation, I personally don't think they are necessary. However, I'd like to hear everybody's opinion about this particular herb (those who have used it and who havent), especially Gururattan's and Satsang's, or people who have meditated for many years. Thank you, sat nam maria. ===== SAT NAM Make international calls for as low as $.04/minute with Messenger http://phonecard./
Guest guest
Sat Nam! We are somewhat familiar with this herb, Salvia Divinorum. I am surprised you mention it and I wonder if you really saw mention of it on another list. Anway, I'll just share that it is a very unusual herb, entirely not similiar to any other plants. A spiritual teacher of ours has said that most people should not use this substance. It is quite powerful, legal, and is used for a sort of journeying. I don't believe it is unhealthy for all people, but certainly should not be used very often due to its heavy toll on the nervous system, and one should have a guide (someone who can go to the same place without the herb) with them. Paranoia may result as its effects are wearing off due to the weakened nervous system and the lingering sense of the portal nearby that one has just left behind. It really isn't something people do for fun, but rather to assist in a release of the logical mind and allow the spirit to travel and become aware of higher levels of consciousness. This can be possible without the use of mind altering substances, but we can see historically that in some cases shamans and others feel that plants are beneficial. My yoga teacher has given me to know that Guru Dev Singh, the one who teaches Sat Nam Rasayan healing used this herb in shamanic studies before he met Yogi Bhajan. I doubt he needs it anymore, but it is interesting to know. As far as using the type of sage burned as insense goes, I think it is great and useful and I use it to clear the space before I teach class, as well as for clearing our living space from time to time. Guest guest
Sat Nam Maria, > I do use sage incense in my home to repel any negative > entities or forces. It also has medicinal uses for a few specific conditions, but not as a meditation aid. So it is good to use it this way. However, both my meditation teacher and Yogi Bhajan and I think all respected masters I know of recommend against ingesting any kind of psychoactive substances, because the state you get from them, while it may be interesting, is not in fact meditation. There are people who say they can use these substances because "God made them". My teacher put it very simply: God also made poison, and how often do you ingest that? Most such substances have in fact medical uses - so does snake poison, for that matter. However, for meditation it is best just to use yourself ; )! Many blessings, Satsang Kaur

I doubt he needs it anymore, but it is interesting to know. When Guru Dev meet Yogi Bhajan and asked YB to be his teacher, YB said he had to be clean for 1 year and then he would teach him. This also included not manipulating any energies. He now teaches how to create healing through a shift in consciousness. The cleanest way possible. Very interesting story.
