Hello,

I have a question. I've found a few mantras already, like ong na mo guru dev

na mo, but I hven't been able to find that many. I know that a mantra stands

for something, or like, each silible of it stands for something. I would

like to know some more of those silibles meanings. Thank you.

There is such an astoundingly huge number of mantras in KY that you couldn't

learn all of them! It seems there are two approaches to mantras in spiritual

disciplines. There are some that use just one or two mantras for everything.

These are the disciplined less concerned with improving your life here and

now, and concerned mostly with attaining liberation. Meditation yogas would

generally fall into this category. Then you would have basically one main

mantra for meditation and japa (silent repetition), such as Guru Om, Jay Jay

Vitthala, or Om Namah Shivaya. These mantras are not to be used for mundane

pursuits. Sat Nam (my identity is Truth) is such a mantra in KY.

KY on the other hand is interested both in liberation and in improving your

life here and now. There are mantras for just about everything you can think

about. I suggest you get a KY book (one that has meditations in it) and the

book will give you both a wealth of mantras and their meaning. Gururattan's

wonderful books are available from www.yogatech.com .

Many blessings,

Satsang Kaur
