Guest guest
Samantha, I don't recall 5 distractions specifically. This was a 2 day retreat on opening the heart. We were asked in each 45 min meditation set to focus on one thing, for example: our breath, our thoughts as they arise, physical sensations as they clamor for our attention, & feelings, noticing where emotions appear in our bodies. We also did walking and eating meditation. We were told that while sleeping is a very good, necessary and wonderful thing to do it is NOT the same thing as meditating so we should please sit up straight! I'd guess that outside noises might be considered a significant distraction along with our thoughts, physical discomfort and sleepiness. > >Peggy Sue, > >Did they talk about the five things that distract you from medition?
