Guest guest
Dear Michelle, One does not do a beet juice fast. It is too cleansing. There must be sites on juice fasting of which beet is a part. Guest guest
In the book "The Ancient Art of Self Healing"by Yogi Bhajan and Dr. Siri Amir Singh they say that 6 oz. of carrot juice, 2 oz. of beet juice and 4 oz. of celery juice is good for "lack of flexibility in the human character and to increase the buffer when you are facing something that is out of tune". "Start on the first day of the moon cycle and end on the 15th." Additionally for those wanting to detox "any of the beet fasts mentioned in this book may be followed to remove drug deposits from the body, however one word of caution about beet juice for very toxic people: It is very surprising; however strong and powerful and stout a man may be, you give him 5 to 6 ounces of fresh beet juice and you will see a tremendous reaction. He will vomit, he will go totally pale, go berserk, and he may even fall flat as though a heart attack had happened. After all that you will say, "but this is only beet juice, it is not something very strong." In reality it is very, very strong. It can upset the whole system. "The Ancient Art of Self Healing" is essential to have. That's my last word, Dharam "Gururattan K.Khalsa" wrote: > Dear Michelle, > > One does not do a beet juice fast. It is too cleansing. Guest guest
Here's some info that I found about beets: Beets promote a diuretic washing action via the liver and kidneys. The power is in their iron content, a unique low-level iron that cleanses blood cells and serves as a strong washing agent for flushing away fatty deposits. Beets also contain natural chlorine that helps wash away fat that mgith otherwise accumulate in the cells of your liver, kidneys and gallbladder. They also tend to stimulate your lymph fluid, the straw-colored portion of your blood that dislodges fatty deposits from your adipose cells. Hope this helps. I've tried the beet and banana fast, although I don't need to lose weight...I lost a few pounds in the few days that I fasted. My energy level zoomed. Guest guest
Would you please give more details on how you did it: quantity, how many times a day you ate it, how many days you stayed on banana and beet juice. Also, there is a warning that beet juice is very powerful and should be taken with caution. How to determine if one can consume it, if at all, and how much would be enough? Thanks, Agali --- Nettlelady wrote: > Here's some info that I found about beets: > > Beets promote a diuretic washing action via the > liver and kidneys. I ate only raw or cooked beets and bananas whenever I was hungry, until I was full for a few days. I was not rigid with the fast as I have a family to cook for and a rigorous schedule. > is a warning that beet juice is very powerful and > should be taken with caution. It was recommended by Yogi Bhajan in the book by Gururattan Kaur Khalsa and Ann Marie Maxwell, Relax and Renew , for improvement of liver function and it does say that beet and carrot juice should be taken in moderation. The information I gave you was from research I did to find out the benefits of beets. Hope this helps.
