Guest guest
Hi, I have found that homeopathic tobacco : tobacum 30c or 200c, once a week for a while helps avoid the weight gain as your body adjust to not having nicotine. It is also important to ask yourself: what is smoking doing for me, and try to full that need in a more self promoting manner. 40 days of Kirtan Kriya will usually adjust your psyche once you have quit so you won't want to start again - as long as you do the other two things as well. Hope this helps. Seva Simran Graham Robert Crabb wrote: > HI MY NAME IS ANNE MARIE, > IM A SMOKING YOGI, CAN ANYONE GIVE ME ADVICE ON HOW TO KICK THIS HABIT? Guest guest
Dear Anne Marie, IM A SMOKING YOGI, CAN ANYONE GIVE ME ADVICE ON HOW TO KICK THIS HABIT? IM SO SCARED OF PUTTING ON WEIGHT, AS I HAVE IN THE PAST. IM GOING IN FOR TEACHER TRAINING IN THE FALL AND WANT TO BE A GOOD EGZAMPLE Putting on weight and being a good example for your students are the least of your worries...You need to come to grips with what smoking is really doing to you. Go to a cancer ward in a hospital, or a hospice and talk with the people there...get in tune with what your body is telling you... Kundalini Yoga will help a great deal, I'm sure, but until you really get what your doing to yourself straight in your mind, you will have a hard time with this one... Take the longest deepest breath you can...and when you finish that one, take another. Don't quit until you have quit! I'm an ex smoker of 15 years and it was really a hard thing to do, but it's much harder to keep smoking when you finally get what your doing to yourself. I wish you all the best and hope this helps you. Many Blessings, Bob "Blinded by Delight"....Jim Snyder Graham Robert Crabb [gcrabb] Friday, February 09, 2001 6:41 AM Kundaliniyoga SMOKING YOGI HI MY NAME IS ANNE MARIE, TO MY STUDENTS IN THE FUTURE.I HAVE BEEN PRACTISING YOGA FOR ABOUT 5yrs BUT HAVE JUST STARTED WITH KUNDALINI AND BREATH OF FIRE CLASSES.THANKS "OUR DESTINY IS TO BE HAPPY" - Yogi Bhajan You can UNSUBSCRIBE from this list at the Groups Member Center (My Groups), or send mail to Kundaliniyoga NO UNSUBSCRIBE REQUESTS TO THE LIST PLEASE! Guest guest
Thanks for the perverbial warning, Bob. I should know better. I've tried all the aids at one time or another to no avail. It's something within me that has to click in to shed the dreadful habit. It so contradicts everything that I am or what I would perceive myself to want to be. I'll keep up with praticing KY. I've been told I will get there....guaranteed!=) Sat Nam, Di In a message dated 8/12/01 3:18:02 PM Central Daylight Time, rak writes: > With all due respect Di, I want to tell you that in my experience continuing > to smoke anything is only going to prolong your symptoms...ie the urge to > smoke. Guest guest
With all due respect Di, I want to tell you that in my experience continuing to smoke anything is only going to prolong your symptoms...ie the urge to smoke. In some respects I think that the nicotine patches are a better alternative because they don't reinforce the smoking habits, and that is a huge part of the addiction. I really don't like the patches either though, because they are delivering nicotine to your system, and that's the other half of the problem. That doesn't mean that either system won't work for you...I just wanted to point out the pit-falls. Best of luck.
