confusion about morning sadhana

Sat Nam All--

I have just just begun to practice a morning sadhana. I am doing the

wake-up set from Meditation as Medicine by Dr. Dharma Singh Khalsa

(also in TTHCW) and some spinal flexes and twists, and then 11

minutes of Kirtan Kriya. I really like Kirtan Kriya, and feel very

uplifted doing it, and have decided to try to do it as my first 40

day set. However, I'd also like to maintain a Sat Kriya practice and

don't know where to put that in: before Kirtan Kriya? Additionally,

I'd like to begin chanting the Morning Call, and am likewise confused

as to where to put that in the order of sadhana.

I woke up today at 6 to begin my sadhana, and couldn't believe how

(relatively) easy it was to get up. I had done Kirtan Kriya the night

before, and had slept very well, so that probably had something to do

with it. I don't have much time for sadhana right now--only about 35

minutes, so I'm not taking a cold shower or anything.

Many thanks for all your help--

Jessie

I would say to do Sat Kriya at the end of your "physical" set, then rest for

a few minutes, and after that do the Morning Call and Kirtan Kriya at the

end. Anway make sure to rest after Sat Kriya.

You'd be surprised. Meditating before bed and waking up early for practice

is excellent. Keep doing that and you will probably find out that you need

to sleep only half of what you thought. Sleep is good of course. But I

remember I had a real shock upon realizing we sleep on average a third of

our lives! Now *that* doesn't sound to me like a worthwhile thing to do.

Fortunately since meditation is much more restful than sleep it is possible

to do something about that.

Jessie, you're cheating ; )! I assume you take a walk to the bathroom before

practice. Try turning the cold water on and see what happens!

Many blessings,

Satsang Kaur

I love "Meditation as Medicine." Dr. Dharma has also written "Brian

Longevity," which includes a spinal series that ends w/ Sat Kriya. So in my

own practice I do my sadhna in the following manner: wake up set, spinal

series w/ Sat Kiyra, Morning Call, Kirtan Kryia, and I've just recently

added the special meditation for the fifth chakra. I'm sure you could

probably change the order, but I'll leave those comments to the experts who

grace this egroup.

Dear Jessie,

If you only have 35 minutes then you might want to do Kirtan Kryia before

you go to bed since it is so beneficial for good sleep.

Hello Gururattan,

How to do Kirtan Kryia? Can you explain the

procedure/steps... please.

I'm also interested to know Breath(e) walking.

Thank you in advance.
