Guest guest
Hello, I am wondering if someone could explain what the scientific/spiritual differences are and what is happening when we breathe these different ways so we can learn to employ their use appropriately: Inhaling and exhaling both through the nose Inhaling and exhaling both through the mouth Inhaling thru nose/exhaling through the mouth Inhaling through the mouth/exhaling through the nose What about when the mouth is tightend into a hole for inhale or exhale? When the tongue is stuck out of the mouth and is curled up on the sides? What is happening when you inhale and hold it in? What is happening when you exhale and hold it out? Breath of Fire - what is actually happening with this? I have heard that it expands your radiance (?) and accelerates your progress (progress of what?) compared to normal breathing. Is it OK to just do BOF anytime, anywhere, in any position, for any length of time? Like driving down the road? As you nod off to sleep? While you're watching a TV commercial? While taking a shower? Mudras are another interesting practice. The effects of mudras must be extremely subtle yet, they must be effective because they have been around for so long. Is there a way of knowing if they are working? What do the different fingers mean? It seems like teachers always want you to connect the thumb and index finger and never any other fingers. Why is this? Thanks very much for your insights, Steve
Guest guest
Sat Nam, Is it OK to just do BOF anytime, anywhere, in any position, for any length of time? Generally speaking whenever you want to get more energized. More than 30 minutes might be over doing it. Like driving down the road? Yes. As you nod off to sleep? No. It is energizing. > While you're watching a TV commercial? While taking a shower? yes, yes. > > Mudras are another interesting practice. Do them and tune into the subtle effects. Sat Nam, Gururattan Kaur
