Dear Sharon, you had a wonderful experience with meditation, I too have had

some which blew me away. I was meditating one day and saw the inside of my

body bones blood sinews the whole lot. I thought it was really wierd.,but my

Yoga teacher said it was a breakthrough for me. After doing kundalini and

breath of fire for about a year I started to have a lot of them. If you are

new to this imagine the experiences you have to look forward to in the

future. The same one may not happen again though, so dont try to get it

again whilst meditating, or your mind wont be free to experience other ones.

It is a good idea to keep a journal handy and write in it after your

session. If you fear getting depressed this meditation is good for lifting

your spirits.

Sit in easy pose or in a high back chair, with your elbows at your

side, close your four fingers on the mounds and keep your thumbs up, your

forearms are out in front, inhale Sat deeply and exhale nam, push all the

air out of your belly and draw the belly into your spine, do four rounds of

sa ta na ma without breathing. Repeat this sequence for about 4 or 5 mins

and gradually work it up to 11mins.Namaste Anne Marie

Hello All,

My name is Sharon, and this is the first time i have posted to the group,

although I have been reading with earnest all the wonderful information you

all have been sharing :)

I have just started to study yoga here in Australia and would like to share

with you my my first true experience with meditation :)

On Monday the 20th, I followed the basic guidelines to meditation, letting

go and witnessing etc (I feel I was truly meditating). After persevering

with my sense of sound, and observing instead of reacting, in my left

eyelid surrounded by blackness I saw a swirling hole, I could see the top of

a head and hand coming out getting sucked in very quickly, I had the urge to

bend down to grab the hand to pull the person out and before I could do this

in the top right of my right eyelid the symbol of om flashed for a moment

surrounded by a dark redness (like light behind the eyelid) . I then

'snapped out' of this all of a sudden, like waking up from a dream. I feel

this was my subconscious giving me a message. I have recently been trying

to help someone I care deeply about who has been getting more and more

depressed and I had begun to feel overwhelmed by the situation.

I think I was going beyond the reaches of my ordinary mind and superficial

thoughts and in the form of pictures and feelings that I understand and

appreciate, my higher being, warned not to be sucked down into this feeling

of depression and helplessness too. Although I do not know the significance

of the Om symbol and would like to investigate this further. I found this

very interesting and inspiring, I looking forward to this to happen again

but since has not.

I feel that I have a very long way to go in my journey and this was a

wonderful motivator to continue which seems to be a very long and rewarding

quest.

During my typing of the last paragraph I received an incoming email

notification when I checked it I felt inspired, I feel everything happens

for a reason so I will include it here :)

you are starting to tune into the Reality of Oneness within

yourself. *s

love light peace,

maria.

This posting was in response to a different comment, but I feel that the

thread that this comment was in relation does not matter entirely. The

point at which I received the email, and the comments made are of great

significance to me at this time, It is a wonderful sign that my thoughts are

going in the right direction, and "If I'm facing the right direction all I

have to do is keep on walking" (Dali Lama)

Thanks to you all, My journey has offically begun, it's great knowing i have

you all here for any guideance or discussion :)

Nameste

Sharon
