Guest guest
Hi There... Yogi Tea DID have REAL "Yogi Tea" available to buy in health food stores... i was disappointed to find out they stopped carrying it too... it was pre-mixed, you just added the ingredients (loose) to a pan of boiling water and simmer for 20mins then add milk and bring to almost a boil.... so it wasn't like your simple "dunk in tea bags" to begin with... (this product didnt come with "black tea" but instructions said you could add it later on...) they do have a teabag version called "Original" Yogi Tea but it doesnt taste too good in my opinion... i think they added Stevia an herbal sweetner to the blend and the taste is not the same.... =( I wrote to the Yogi Tea Co. (i think that was www.yogitea.com ) to see if i could purchase it online... the said they didnt sell it online but suggested going to "Job Lots", or to ask healthfood stores order it for me.... i guess they had access to some secret supplies somewhere... hehe about the same time i was doing this, the KY List started posting recipes (this was last year or so) so i bought my own fresh ingredients and gave it a try... and i am no longer disappointed... I like mine better now..... hehe and the process of it is like a ritual to me... you really have to plan to do it, you can't be blearry eyed and unconsious like you ripping open a teabag to dunk in your microwaved mug in the morning... it forces you to slow down in a sense... the whole house fills with the aroma of these medicinal herbs... its a wonderful experience... and also rewarding to one who can't really cook well.. hehe a feeling of accomplishment... only thing is when i make it, its not as dark and coffee colored like the store bought kind.... what should i be using more of (besides black tea which wasnt in the store bought version anyway) to make it darker? Guest guest
Hello, My local health food grocery store carries many kinds of the Yogi Tea brand but none of them have the black tea in them. If YB thinks that is important why isn't it sold that way? Especially if the amount of caffeine is insignificant? I don't care to make the tea myself so is there a place to order the original Yogi Tea with the black tea in it? Is it ok to use rice or soy milk to dilute it? Is it ok to drink without adding anything at all? Thanks!
Guest guest
Stash tea makes a really good organic Chai, which is what the "original" tea recipe is. ///(*_*)\\\ >supertriangel >Kundaliniyoga >Kundaliniyoga > Where to buy the REAL Yogi Tea >Fri, 24 Aug 2001 15:07:22 -0000 > >Hello, > >My local health food grocery store carries many kinds of the >Yogi Tea brand but none of them have the black tea in them. >If YB thinks that is important why isn't it sold that way? >Especially if the amount of caffeine is insignificant? > >I don't care to make the tea myself so is there a place to >order the original Yogi Tea with the black tea in it? Guest guest
Freshly made Yogi Tea is a light color... it only gets dark after it's been sitting for a while. As long as the taste is good and your using all ingrediants your're all set -- light is fresh!! A little more or little less of each ingrediant can be used to taste, as well.
