Guest guest
Hello Janine and others, To my knowledge, the expression 'breath of fire' may be used for some different types of breathing. Here is how I do mine, which I also call 'below breathing'. I first kneel and then I begin to expell the residual air from my lungs, pressing my belly inside. I do it filling my lung fully, then emptying them the most I can (that is more than you believe at first, for there is a lot of residual air). I go on for about a minute, breathing with the mouth open and very violently. After a minute (which seems eternity) I slow and breath the same way but at a peaceful pace for about 3 minutes more. This breathing is so powerful it can drive some people hysterics (I find only benefits, as for me). And it is equivalent to 30 minutes of exercises if you want to train your flexibility ! Check it and tell me on the list. It gets you warm at once... Guest guest
Sat nam, BOF is equal inhalation and exhalation thru the nose using the navel point. Something similar to panting. You can sit in rock pose or easy pose. There are times while doing an asana that you will use BOF. Blessings, Samantha P.S. Scroll down to the bottom where is lists KY Training online for the proper way. - "Jacques De Schryver" <jdsetls <Kundaliniyoga> Monday, August 27, 2001 1:24 AM How I do : How do you do the breath of fire? > Hello Janine and others, > > To my knowledge, the expression 'breath of fire' may be used for some > different types of breathing. > > Here is how I do mine, which I also call 'below breathing'. > > I first kneel and then I begin to expell the residual air from my lungs, > pressing my belly inside. > > I do it filling my lung fully, then emptying them the most I can (that is > more than you believe at first, for there is a lot of residual air). > > I go on for about a minute, breathing with the mouth open and very > violently. > > After a minute (which seems eternity) I slow and breath the same way but at > a peaceful pace for about 3 minutes more. > > This breathing is so powerful it can drive some people hysterics (I find > only benefits, as for me). > > And it is equivalent to 30 minutes of exercises if you want to train your > flexibility !
