Sat Nam,

Yogi Bhajan has long said that Kundalini Yoga is a "black art" meaning that

it's roots came from ancient, pre-arab Egypt, the upper Nile part. And as

Kundalini is the mother of all yogas.....well, the rest is

obvious.

Of course this flies in the face of most westerners. Tantra may have,

however, had a more Asiatic origin. And that isn't to say that maybe there was

some cross pollination going on as time went by. Maybe a

little of the "Hundredth Monkey" effect. Later he goes on to say that the Great

Zimbabwe may have been built by either the Indians or the Egyptians.

This is a good. There is a lot to be learned. I am a student of the mbira music

of the Shona of the Highlands of Zimbabwe. In their music the invoking of

ancestral spirits in times of drought, when a healing is

needed or simply for spiritual guidance is central to their society. Us

Kundalini Yogis chant the Adi Mantra to link within and to open it up to the the

tradition of saints and sages of present and past.

Very cool,

Dharam

well-researched is the article, but the idea is quite intriguing. I wonder if

anybody knows about this and can confirm what the author says.
