Guest guest
Sat Nam Carlos I think there is no reason to take food supplements unless you are in in very specific situations. If you ride your bike for 120 miles on a hot summer day, there is no way you can keep the correct salt level in yr. body unless you take several mineral salt drinks. Even then, one could argue that the technology of the human body is not designed for riding 120 miles (and I agree, except that I love biking...). Anyway, sadhana are not so stressful. I do a lot of biking and aminoacids are now the big thing, everybody is buying them. I tend to think they are not necessary if yr. diet is balanced. Last summer I went for a 130 miles ride eating bananas and drinking water mixed with dates, and ended up perfectly allright. My ride pals kept drinking 'salts' and taking aminoacids, and I kept joking. Vegetarian animals have lots of strength and endurance, and they do not take aminoacids. Lions sleep most of the time, and I doubt that aminoacids would make them livelier. However, if there were chemist's shops in the animal world, I believe non-vegetarian animals would be more likely to go inside and buy aminoacids. If you are 90% vegetarian, you have no need to give money to the supplements industry. The idea itself of food supplement is totally unnatural. Just think of a huge meeting of people practicing KY and taking breaks to swallow down aminoacids. Ooops, I guess I got too excited. ciao, Roberto
