I have already written to some of you directly, but in some cases my requests have been ignored. We are losing many rs, disillusioned with the amount of stuff they need to wade through every day to try and find the relevant material. The answer is simple. When replying to any mail sent to this list, please 1) Edit the original, remove all unnecessary and irrelevant material, and especially remove old message trailers. 2) Ensure that the subject heading is relevant to the content of your message. 3) Avoid especially resending messages with the appended "I agree" or " :-) " type of replies. If you really must send these kinds of messages, please reply privately, off-list! We all make occasional errors with our postings to the list, but in future, persistent offenders will be placed automatically on moderated status, which at the very least will result in delays in their mail appearing on here, and my assistants will be instructed to reject any postings not meeting these criteria. No further warnings will be given. I would prefer not to have to take such action, but it seems to be the only way to keep the list functioning for the benefit of the vast majority of our rs. If anyone has any comments about this message, then please reply to me directly, and not to the list! Sat Nam!
