Guest guest
Excuse me, but there is nothing "beautiful" about "serious retribution". Unless you agree that the Nazi's "final solution" was a beautifully simple solution to the "problem" of the Jews. War means pain, suffering, death and devastation for 10s to 100s of thousands of people. Bin Laden was trained and armed by the CIA in the 1980's to fight off the Russian invaders, but he turned on us (just as Saddam Hussein did), as he said, because he could not stand the idea of American troops on the Holy Land of Saudi Arabia. If we carpet bomb Afghanistan, just as we did Iraq, we will only be creating another 100 Bin Ladens. You can check all of this out on MSNBC and CNN sites. Don't be fooled by "smart bombing". It is a fiction. The US military's own figures show that 94% of the bombs dropped on Iraq were not guided. B 52s dropped 50% of them from over 40,000 feet in the air. Smart bombing is a PR stunt to try to convince us that we can have a clean war and just get the "evil" people.. Basra, Iraq's second largest city, population 800,000, was carpet bombed as were surrendering retreating soldiers who fled the city waving white flags. War is hell. Official estimate (i.e. low) of Iraqi soldiers killed 100,000, 348,00 wounded. NO estimates for civilians. Number of US soldiers killed:148. When you advocate retribution, you are being highjacked by your lower nature. Yes it's understandable, especially if you have lost somebody you love, but just ask yourself what any of the Great Masters would do in a situation like this. An eye for an eye means everyone goes blind. It take far more courage to stand for peace, justice and forgiveness and to accept responsibility for the realities we create (WE helped create Bin Laden) than it does to drop a bomb.
