Guest guest
Roberto and all, I understand the fears as to the course of our nation under its current leadership as I too share them. I am worried by George Bush's use of the words "good" and "evil". It is very polarizing and sounds to me like an attempt to fan the flames of anger and hate therefore legitimatizing war. Martin Luther King Jr also spoke eloquently about good and evil but King recognized good and evil as an inner struggle that all human beings, including himself, must contend with. I pray that when George Bush says he will rid the world of evil he is including the evil within himself and his administration and their policies. But somehow I doubt it. As I keep breathing and praying for peace I wrestle with my own anger and fear of our administration. May we root out the evil in ourselves before we use it as an excuse to attack others. I find listening to recorded sermons of King very helpful to me in this trying time for our nation. He was a man of peace who was not blind to the need for peace to be supported by justice. It was not easy for him to come out against the war in Vietnam when he did but he had great conviction and vision. I wish he was with us now and I try to embody his spirit in my continued commitment to non-violence. Peace, Peggy Sue
