She did an energy assessment on me and said our KY practice is really chi based instead of Kundalini energy. She talked about people who had awakened Kundalini energy, and the energy stays up, and is very powerful and can be very dangerous. I tried to explain this system of self initiation, but I don't think she believed me. What are your thoughts about this practice being chi based? Pam -- Response: Dear Pam, The center that the Taoists and those practicing martial arts call chi is located in the Kandal, which is between the naval and 4th vertebra and is the point of triangulation where we pull mool bhand. In the practice of KY, postures and movements put pressure on certain areas that when combined with powerful long deep breathing and breath of fire cause the blood which saturates those areas due to the pressure to become vitalized supercharged. This caused the nerves in those areas to fire, to become charged and balanced, and the capillaries in the related glands and organs to nerves centers to open, release their toxins, discharge waste from the cells, which the begin to charge as well and come up to a full and natural voltage. As the nerves and centers begin to carry a greater natural charge throughout the system and magnetic field, Laya Yoga sound current practices cause these areas to resonate and open further, something you can feel due to the balanced overall charge of the magnetic field. All these practices are a building up of prana throughout the system. Mool bhand brings the downward moving prana up to the Kandal, where it naturally circulates downwards into the base of the spine then upwards through the spinal cord (sushumna). The jalandara bhand (neck lock) then creates a bypass to any tension in the shoulders and neck so that the energy continues to flow upwards. So far this is all pranic or chi storage. The storage and build up of prana is directly related to the pumping of seminal fluids into the bloodstream. This fluid is rich in vital minerals and chemicals that allow the nerves to carry a charge and the cells to renew. Without it, the nervous system burns out and we become mentally and physically decrepit before our time, as we can see with the smoking of marijuana, which inhibits the pumping mechanism that takes this fluid up to the heart. At a certain point the centers are all charged and the magnetic field comes under an electric etheric pressure. The nerves become hot and electric and used to carry a considerable charge (voltage). Then at some point, the mind turns inwards (is pulled inwards with an inner force that discards attention to the sensations of the body and images in the mind, and you abide in / as pure awareness). The mull bhand pulls up and locks automatically causing the Kandal to release a focused stream of energy downwards, which Yogi Bhajan calls "reverse channels," and this fires the release of fluid into the spinal cord. As this fluid rises through sushumna it opens the centers along the spine and then into the brain directly versus as previously through the circulatory system. This is inward pulling of the mind and inward pulling of the seminal fluids into the sushumna is called the Kundalini. The Kundalini Yoga of Yogi Bhajan is a self initiation, because the development of the expansion of prana is up to the practitioner. Naturally, as the system becomes pure, you begin to become aware of the field of pervasive energy of the Golden Link, which acts as an inner guide, like a graviton pulling silently from within. You create the link through your practice and devotion. The reason that Kundalini Yoga of Yogi Bhajan is often called safe versus other paths, is that these other paths do not have a systematic practice that purifies and charges the nerves and centers, to allow for the natural flow of greater voltages of energy consciousness. Thus, having weaker and imbalanced nervous systems and magnetic fields, any sudden kundalini release can cause them problems that you, practicing the Kundalini Yoga of Yogi Bhajan, would be unaware or concerned about. The other practices of Kundalini Yoga, also require either a Yogi to impart Shaktipat or long periods of fasting and internal cleansing and hours every day of practicing various pranayamas, which is not necessary in the case of the Kundalini Yoga of Yogi Bhajan, which can be practiced while living a busy life. Also, the results are much faster, as within a matter of weeks you will already be feeling the heat and electricity and the resonance of the mantras and sound current. All it takes is an hour (+/-) of practice every day and an intensive KY class once or twice a week and all this will unfold by itself, and you will experience and hear the resonance of the words of the Saviors within you and the emergence of the True Man / True Woman (the Possible Human). Hope this is useful. Pieter (www.kundalini-matashakti.com) --
Guest guest
Hi Pieter I find your information infinitely useful and use it in my teaching all the time. You broaden and expand the teachings and give them a sound base that is at once easy to understand and good for stretching one's own practise. Thank you very much.
