Guest guest
Hello all, I have a problem with stretch pose and want to know if anyone can suggest anything to overcome it. For several months I've been doing it for three minutes without fail first thing in the morning, and it has made a noticeable difference in my life. However, it srains and pains the area around the base of my skull, especially on the right side. I thought with time it would strenghten and ease, but it has not. I don't want to stop stetch pose as I feel nothing else is as effective, but I don't want to be in pain either. My neck gets really tired. Any ideas ? Love and thanks, Avtar K. ______________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Join Juno today! Guest guest
Sat Nam Avtar K, Have you tried doing strectch pose in bed. The support is incredible. Also, it sounds like you may have to strengthen your abdominable muscles. When you lift the neck, do not lift the neck, but lift from the chest. Imagine there is an attachment at your upper chest and someone is pulling it up. That may relieve the problems with the neck a bit. They say stretch pose doesn't get ever easy. I don't know. Hope this helps. Guest guest
I have tried stretch pose in bed, but ours in elevated at the end about four inches and I find it just doesn't work well. Also the instructions I have read for stretch pose stipulate keeping the shoulders blades on the ground, which involves using the neck muscles. Is this correct ? Thanks, Avtar K ______________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Join Juno today! For your FREE software, visit: http://dl.www.juno.com/get/web/. Guest guest
Sat Nam Avtar K, It's still late Thurs eve and I'm just going to bed but I got curious about the pose. I checked 2 different sources, Kudnalini Yoga, Guidelines for Sadhana and Recipes for Health, Relaxation & Coousciousness, they both say to lift head and shoulders. Guest guest
Hi Samantha, Thank you very much for your enquires on my behalf ! The method I read was in "The Eight Human Talents" but since it is causing me problems I'll do it with head and shoulders lifted. It makes much more sense. Sat Nam and many blessings, Avtar K. ______________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Join Juno today!
