Guest guest
Hi Everybody, I live in South Georgia-I am a Native American-Cherokee, the weather is very hot here with absolutely no breeze unless there is a hurricane somewhere near by. I wash my hair & body with 'almost' warm water (barely warm -never hot) I move out of the water and exfoliate everything with a finely granulated sea salt and baking soda mixture that I make into a paste (Im totally pasted) then I turn the faucet to cold and let the cold water move down from my hair to rinse the paste off my body (sometimes I put it in my hair too) First I do my head, it is my favorite place, it is a wonderful feeling to feel the cold water on my scalp. It is the extreme feeling after washing it with the luke warm first. -After a minute the water is actually a normal feeling temperature-breath of fire helps- like when you go swimming and have to get use to the water- If I have to shave my legs then I do while the ater is cold -you will never get a closer shave than this-after your skin has gotten use to the cold water and the chill bumps decrease. I actually feel skin sick if I shave or shower in warm water- its like I am sweating- -then I put oil all over my body while under the cold water-I put it in a squirter-and vigorously rub my skin down with what ever oil I am using, by this time the water feels like my body temperature. Sometimes I even have to make sure that it is still on as cold as it will go. When I get out everything around me feels super hot and super clammy. My body however feel so cool and ultra refreshed. (when Im in the mountains however-the water is a lot colder naturally out of the faucet-which I like even better) and the air is not ever sticky or clammy. I think it is a matter of staying in the water until I get use to it-this may be wrong for everybody else. Im not saying that this is the correct way at all. This is just me. Once I started, I could never stop. It is so invigorating. But..Do I have to wear shorts? I will change my pattern if it is needed for my health? I know that the reasons aren't pulled from out of the blue. It just won't be as enjoyable or very easy for me? I feel like If I put on shorts-I will feel gross, aren't wet clothes a horrible feeling? Naked seems better to me - I can barely stand a wet swimsuit much less wet shorts?!?!?!?!.Help Sat Nam Miesha-girl-29yrs old

First I rub down with almond oil and essential oil then just go for it, vigorously massaging my body all over. I do it one part at a time; legs, then arms, then front, then back. It is still a challenge in the beginning but I always feel soooo great when I'm done. Chanting Wahe Guru helps a lot. It takes usually takes me exactly 7 mins from oil to drying. Question: Is it neccessary to do the head? I have lots of hair I don't like to get it wet in the morning. > _______________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com
Guest guest
Check archives for extensive and in-depth discussion on this very topic. My two cents (on the run!). You must wear shorts and do breath of fire, also. Pump that navel and subject yourself. Guest guest
It is not advisable for crown of the head to be subject to the cold water. Guest guest
I find a good, brisk rubdown with a loofah absolutely necessary before the cold (short) shower On Wednesday, October 9, 2002, at 12:28 PM, Amanda Hamm wrote: >> Is the cold shower hard to get used to?? sam >> -cris Cris Naugle Walk in Beauty
Guest guest
And now from the 'black sheep' of the group.....After 7 months, I still haven't tried a cold shower in the morning. Boy does it feel good to 'confess' that. I'm a TOTAL wimp. I walk around my house (whose temperature is set to 78 degrees F) in sweat pants and socks. I get too cold if I wear shorts. I've tried at 76 degrees, but my hands and feet get cold and will start to tingle. So I can't even conceive of cold showers. BUT, my morning routine does start by washing my face, including ears and neck, with a cold washcloth. So do I get at least a 1/4 point for that? Dearest Christa, I would say you are a treasure of gold in this group, not a black sheep, because you take so many time to share all your experiences, - you get 10 points or more, with or without a cold shower. Yogi Bhajan once said: To be healthy you should do two things each day: you should laugh and sweat. I'm 'ready with laughing' for today and that I owe to you. My own cold shower is for the legs and arms, then I take warm water, cold water again and warm water again. It's only to wake us up, not to get a cold. Thank you very much, be blessed Sonja
