Guest guest
Sat Nam, 13 months ago I had gone through one of the worst times in my life. During that period, I came across a very helpful Taoist on the net. (Though I had no idea of what a Taoist was at the time.) The words having gone through my head were: I would give my right arm to understand life as well as that person does, as well as to experience that Peace of mind. Then came the thought: "Why not give up alcohol instead?" With hopeless, tear filled eyes, I just asked God to bring me home - Little did I know that Heaven was right here all the time. Though years of previous attempts to stop drinking had failed, that was the day that changed my life. Thereafter, I had searched the net for ideas on how to stay sober. I was then certain that yoga was the answer. I had also decided to become a Kundalini yoga instructor, in order to bring other alcoholics an alternative to drinking. I would not let myself think of the details required because: 1)I had worked so hard to get into the career field that I am now in - Technical, and 2) I had no previous yoga experience. As of Dec. 2001, I will have completed the one year teacher's certification course, Thanks Mukta! I also have been taking regular yoga classes, app. 4 times each week. 13 months sober, and I will always love adding months/Years to that statement. It is my hope to implement a 12 Step Yoga program by March 2002. It is my new life's mission to offer other alcoholics an alternative to drinking - Kundalini Yoga. This has been my true Salvation, and I hope to provide the same for others. Also, it will be necessary to incorporate something into the "after class time", as well as will need to come up with ideas on how make the program self sufficient - in order to forever be there for people. *Could you advise, or direct me to anyone who could offer any advice / suggestions on the nuts and bolts of my upcoming program? Note: I am not very familiar with other recovery programs, though I do read as much as possible. That was simply not something that was able to "work" for me. Thank You For You're Time!
