Guest guest
I have been working on getting rid of every thing in my body that I no longer need. I have also been working on accepting every one where they are in their life, in helping the world heal. Well today brought up maybe one of the deepest core beliefs I have, while I thought I had let go of already. Where I live there is this major religion in which I grew up. I left that group many years ago to find my path, which was calling me stronger than the teachings they thought. Today I was at my mom's house and she was watching her church leader talking to them. He said how they where told to go into all nations and baptize every one to be their faith. If any one was to join their faith they would be saved and live forever. And if any one was to refuse their faith that they should tell them how they are dammed to hell forever. Oh wow that feasted in me for a few hours till I came home and had time to think off all I am doing and what this all meant to me. First thoughts how dare they dame me to hell. They don't even know who I am. They have no right stomping on me like that. After getting really mad I remembered who I was and what I am working on. How I am getting myself healed and growing. Then I said don't take it so personal it's not just you they have dammed to hell. Look at all the many great people that they have placed in the same category as you. Which brought me to ok then I can see that this limited thinking they have is where they choose to be right now. I can love them for where they are and let them go so I can follow my path. My next question is. My whole family is this religion and having to take care of my mom with all of them how can I stay in a focused placed around them. Love them for where they are, and not take them damming me to hell personal. I thank any one who can give me other points of view to see things from. Sat Nam. Guest guest
This is a hard one. I have also moved away from a religion in which my family and many old friends are rooted, and it isn't easy to be different. With the old friends I have found I have naturally moved away from them as there is nothing in common anymore, and it seems pointless to be spending time with people who think I'm on my way to hell. It doesn't make for pleasant times. With the family I've had to learn tolerance , to understand that they have as much right to their views as I have, and to understand that within their narrow view they are truely concerned for my welfare. I also feel it is a respect issue and both sides need to respect the views of the other. All I can tell you is that I have had to keep telling myself that what they think is irrelevant - it doesn't change who I am one iota. I would suggest being as discreet as possible about your views - don't get into discussions which will drain you and achieve nothing. Just allow the person you are to shine through and as you progress on you path that will be more and more wonderful and will speak for itself. Years ago I learned a very good way of avoiding pointless argument - just keep saying " yes' or " I hear you" - it means absolutely nothing but keeps difficult people off your back ! Another thing to do is to mentally repeat a mantra like' Sat Nam' when someone is saying things that bother you intensely, it shifts your focus completely. Hope something here helps! Guest guest
Hello, First there is no hell and heaven and nobody can put u in heaven or hell except u. U are responsible for everything that happens. Well u are a woman. Somebody comes and stresses that u are not woman will u believe them or be angry with them? No, what will u do? Take pity on them for their illusions? Do the same. Is it even worth considering? or contemplating! All religions are dead bodies of religion that was once cuz of The living Guru (Whether it is Jesus Christ or Mohammed or Krishna or Buddha or Mahavir or Guru Nanak Dev or Jarthrushta or Astavakra or Tao ...............................) . U are with a living GURU like Yogi Bhajanji. That itself means u are near to ur own religion (whether u know it or no?). So in fact u hv the same religion within u. Only it has manifested into a different form. All religions are the same! All paths lead to the same! The tools differ! And a person is the best judge which tool affects it the most. May be to ur mom the tool which she has affects her the most. And look at the poor church leader, if he/she says every tool is same, nobody wuld take his/her tool. U understand? So he is bound to say so. And so are other people or how else they will use their tool? But remember no religion can be based on fear. If u follow a path out of fear know for sure God isn't there! And u will never reach there. The key for their behavior is the word faith. Faith is a belief system. And all beliefs are basically brain washings. U are slave of faiths. And hence they tend to go away from the truth, from which they originated. So plz. plz. laugh on the beliefs. Plz. take pity on them! Plz. service them. U are a seeker of truth? Of God? The consciousness that is within and without! Then remember it is the same consciousness that flows in everybody including ur mom and church leader. That God, that energy. The next time something like this happens. Go deep into urself, see the consciousness within and then in them. U can't be Free and God until u see the freedom in everything and God in everything and everywhere. Bow down to them.Touch their feet! Tell them U are right so I am. And then also if they insist on hell. Okay, tell them I luv hell! It is a wonderful place! U must luv heaven and hell together! Both go together! And there is also a meditation underlying it. Watch what they say. Let them say what they say. Don't hold it. Don't create, destroy or maintain anything! Just be with urself seeing whatever happens instead of holding, negating or creating something. Be watcher to whatever happens inside and out! Choicelessness is the best choice! And let me know how u feel and what happens? U can't be free until u are so much affected and moved by what others say! Be urself! And respect others individuality. And as urself isn't ur -ve feelings reponsible for what is happening? Luv all! And I beg ur pardon and seek sorry if u don't like what I hv written. Guest guest
Siri Devta Kaur, it seems to me you are on a good path with this. The ability to accept where others are and to not return their intolerance with intolerance is, i think, important. Of course, we must also accept ourselves and our paths without condition. I cannot agree that all religions are dead--if the person practicing that faith is alive and living from his spirit, then he or she gives it life. And I think the religions are working their way toward harmony with one another. The Truth will ultimately prevail. The aftermath of the recent tragedies has shown us that many faiths can join hands and pray together. There are many here in our small Southern community who retain the practice of their faith and the practice of their yoga. For some, there is only one small, narrow path. For others, the road includes many practices. I still attend my church upon occasion, in honor of Christ as my Teacher, a Master, and my first connection to the Infinite. I do not accept the Heaven and Hell that religion has created from his Teachings, but there is much to learn and accept from those Teachings. I never go without taking an important lesson away. I may do a KY sadhana on Friday, a Lakota sweat lodge on Saturday, and take Holy Communion on Sunday--it is all the same God to me. He/She has many languages and works in many ways. He/She provides a way to all. Find yours and live it. Your example will influence those around you. They will want what you've got, and they will not be able to deny your goodness simply because you do not follow their faith. This is what works for me. I hope it helps you.
