Guest guest
Hi Dharam Thanks for your message, but unfortunately this technique does not work. Things are not quite so simple. Please refer any such messages to me in future, as per our list posting advice. I quote from the Boogie Jack Virus & Hoax Alert Service: VirusHoaxAlert- "3) Magic Address" "There is an email going around that supposedly tells you how to set up a phony address in your email program's address book and it will stop viruses that spread by email from being sent. Thinking ahead, I didn't save the email to refer back to, but basically it instructs you to add an address like !xyz. The exclamation point will make it the first address in your address book." "The idea is that when a virus is automatically emailed out from your computer, it will hit that dead address and choke on it, and so stopping everyone else in your address book from having the virus sent to them. The only trouble is, this doesn't work. The email to the dead address will be retained in your Outbox as stated, but the emails to everyone else will go through without a hitch." "At best, this will cause a dead email to be retained in your Outbox, which can alert you to the fact you have a virus. If you want to use it for that purpose, then it will serve you well. However, if you want to use it to protect your contacts, it will not serve your purpose at all." To avoid your message spreading alarm around here, I reiterate that you will not catch any virus by downloading mail from the Kundalini Yoga list, as all file attachments are removed automatically.
