Guest guest
I have Yogi Bhajan's Tantric picture, and have been told to meditate on it. I think this is called "gazing". Can anyone give details on the proper way to do this? Peace, Love and Light, Sukhmani
Guest guest
Sat Nam Sukhmani, > I have Yogi Bhajan's Tantric picture, and have been told to meditate on it. I think this is called "gazing". Can anyone give details on the proper way to do this? > Peace, Love and Light, Sukhmani This is from a teacher's training manual: "Set 3-6 feet away. It's best the use an colored background around the photo. Orange is recommended for regular (I don't have any info the use of other colors). Set one or two candles in front of the picture so it's clear, the rest of the room should be dark. Cover your head and body with a meditation shawl or blanket and sit on a sheepskin or woolen blanket to insulate your aura. Tune in with ONG NAMO GURU DEV NAMO. Humble yourself and tell your mind that the higher self will guide you across the ocean of individuality into the peace of the cosmic self. Know that you will recieve guidance in all matters. Then open the eyes wide to look eye into eye at the picture. Draw up the eyelid slighty (you will feel like you don't need to blink anymore) Completely still the body; the breath will automaticly become lighter and lighter. Look at the light in the eyes of the photo and travel mentally through the picture to the source of that light. Meditate from 15 minutes up to 4 hours, 31 min. is a good time. Many body changes may occur, just remember to keep your gaze on the light of guidance in the eyes. Also the picture may appear to move. Have it talk and move at your command, it's a technique for receiving guidance. Mentally ask a question and listen for the answer. After the meditation, close your eyes and picture that face at the brow point and again get it to move and act for you. When this is mastered, just meditate on the inner photo. This meditation gives the mind the ability to project to infinity through the creative power of the imagination. Try it for 40 days in the early morning before sunrise. During this time, eat lightly and see with new sight during the day. You can mentally chant Sa Ta Na Ma while doing this meditation." Hope this helps Blessings, Henno

Guest guest
In addition to what Henno offered, it is good to have an ethereal Guru Ram Das tape (like from Singh Kaur's Crimson series) playing. The best time is during the hours of ambrosia. I've done it as early as 2am but 5am is pretty powerful also. If you do it at other times, you want it to be dark all around you and the more "primordial", the better. As evidenced in earlier emails regarding the meditation of gazing at one's left eye in a mirror, gazing is a pretty strong technology. The practice of Tratakam meditation is to create a special stillness of the mind where one can hear the voice of the heart and soul. It is the love of the “teacher, a Guru, and the love of that teacher’s wisdom and disciplines”. The mind becomes still by merger and absorption in the path of the teacher. The practice of one- pointedness, Ekagrata, dissolves the barrier between the object and the observer. The object can become consciousness itself, in which case the inner nature and potential of the human spirit reveals itself. If you focus on an object that embodies liberation and higher consciousness such as a picture of a saint or Holy person, you “connect to the Golden Chain of teachers and Being”. It is only through such a connection the final veils of ego and attachment can be thrown off. If I can become thoroughly absorbed in the Traatik photo of Yogiji, then I am seeing Guru Ram Das, his teacher, and maybe I will get to “know” Guru Ram Das’ teacher. It is an ocean of consciousness that can be known in ways. My deepest work on my stuff has been done with this photo. The final seeds of anger or whatever can be finally be cleared away. Guest guest
You will be able to find it at www.yogatech.com or www.a-healing.com. You may even be able find Singh Kaur's music at Tower Records. TylrSedona wrote: > How do I find a Guru Ram Das tape? > > tay
