Guest guest
Sat Nam, Good answer, Bhagwati Kaur. I would just add that when we are ill our energy is needed for our healing. It is a great time to be internal. I would personally avoid strenuous exercises that pulled on my kidneys. I have done heavy pranayama -- breath of fire for 31 minutes -- and felt a powerful healing effect. Breath of fire and sitali pranayama are highly recommened. I definitley keep doing spinal flexes, and stretches so that my energy flow continues and speeds up the healing process. Meditation is of course good too. Guest guest
-I don't know. I would be surprised if doing yoga could make anything worse. I know people who have done KunYoga thru grave illness. Does anyone else know? Guest guest
Namaste Kartar Kaur, I would first recommend following your own bodies advice. And if that says OK, then I would certainly go for it. Many of the Kriyas work out illness's. For example: Twisting types for "wringing" out the kidneys... There are many people who would rely on Yoga to help them heal IF their bodies allowed it. But remember on the other hand, we sometimes need to become active when we "feel" sluggish. Go with your gut feeling. There are the occasional instances where something emotionally works itself out. Then one might feel something like "the kundalini flu". But I could not imagine not staying with it to discover all that is to be uncovered. That's the ultimate growth process! Humbly, Bhagavati -I don't know. I would be surprised if doing yoga could make anything worse. I know people who have done KunYoga thru grave illness. Does anyone else know? Guest guest
But what about if one's sinus passages are blocked, and one has to breathe thru the mouth? I tried just doing the stretches without the breath, but that didn't feel like yoga. Anyway, I'm almost better! - In Kundaliniyoga, "Gururattan K.Khalsa" <rattanak@c...> wrote: > Sat Nam, > > Good answer, Bhagwati Kaur. > > I would just add that when we are ill our energy is needed for our healing. > It is a great time to be internal. Guest guest
I believe Yogi Bhajan has said that the only time you do not do yoga while ill is if you are in bed and not going anywhere for the day. If you go to work, then you can do yoga. Monitoring your energy level may be a good indication. As always, common sense should prevail. Guest guest
Have you tried to drain your sinus passage. You inhale a solution of salt and warm water into one nostril while blocking the other side off. Than you bend your head forward and exhale. It is quite helpful. Glad to hear you are getting better.
