Guest guest
SatNam! Iam new to any form of Yoga. Last week I started trying to concentrate and start on Meditation. Today I could feel something when I was meditating like ... 1. I could feel the heart beat in my forehead 2. My right ear and cheek became warm and then after I finished my meditation, there was a cooling effect on the right half of my face I dint know if these were even worth discussing .. But was curious.. Please comment on my experience. regards, vis
Guest guest
Dear Viswanathan, I've been practicing kundalini since April and have noted some unusual sensations when I perform certain kriyas. For example, when I do the "ego eradicator" exercise (I learned this as part of the Wake Up Series in the book "Transitions to a Heart-Centered World"), I regularly get a sensation like warm honey covering my left arm, starting with my upraised hand and flowing to my shoulder. Other exercises/poses/meditations have different, notable effects. I find these things interesting, and am curious, too. But the important (to me) effects of KY manifest in subtle ways throughout my day. Lately, I've felt more essentially, happily alive than I have in some years. That in itself is great. >From reading about the experiences of a number of people on this list, I wouldn't be surprised if there are a variety of seemingly anomolous sensations among the people that practice KY. I would expect, too, that not everyone feels the same physical effects from the same kriyas or meditations. I have no explanations. I just notice what's happening, how it feels, and whether any other things (thoughts, associations, insights) occur at the same time. Guest guest
Hullo Vishwanathan, I've been practising meditation regularly for more than 2 years now.( Though, I'm new to KY ) I believe that each person has his own unique experiences. In my case, as I meditate,I would get so absorbed that I just forget to breathe, this really makes it difficult for me to concentrate as I immediately try to gulp in air, thereby breaking the one-pointedness of the mind. I then have to start all over again. At times, I have had OBE.It can be pretty scary. Also when I go to sleep, it's this particular phase where I'm neither awake nor asleep, I feel strong jolts of yellow warm light surging through me. I'm not sure if this is a symptom of KY awakening. Also meditation has strengthened my power of intuition. I find these things fascinating & I'm curious about it too. Sat Nam, Priya.
