Guest guest
Is it ok to take a cold shower if: A) It is cold outside and my house is cold. B) I am sick with a cold. C) A combination of both. Also, is it ok to take a warm shower first (to wash face and hair) and then after, rub the body with almond oil, and take a cold shower? Thanks. I personally must have the inside of house warm before I am willing to jump into a cold shower. I know of at least one person who turns on the hot shower to create a steamy warmth in the bathroom before her shower (no names but she is very prominent) and you still hear her react to the cold water when she steps in. (This info comes to me from her husband) > > > B) I am sick with a cold. That's open to some debate. The change in your circulation will do you some good but I think you have to know yourself. For instance I was told by one Chinese medicine practitioner not your do a cold shower after sex even after a full night sleep. > > > C) A combination of both. > > Also, is it ok to take a warm shower first (to > wash face and hair) and then after, rub the body with > almond oil, and take a cold shower? Thanks. I do my cleansing shower in the evening before I take my daily dirt to bed.....usually. Yogiji teaches that you take a direct hit in the morning. Not to start warm and work your way into cold. There is value to the parasympathetic nervous system to "survive" that first few seconds of shock. I like to start with the cold water at my feet and work up the back on my calves and legs and then the back of each arm alternately. Before doing the front I do my face which is calming in general. Then I do the front and all over. All the while I am rubbing and doing breath of fire. Now one thing I do different is I put warm water on my hair first. When I am done with the cold I take some soap and do my the armpits and "naughty bits" (Monty Python humor) and rinse sparing with warm water and to keep it honest I finish with cold. Wear shorts to protect the inner thigh (potassium-magnesium balance) and do the almond oil. Guest guest
Thank you much for your insight, Dharam Singh. It was all very helpful. I never thought of taking a shower at night to clean, and then just the cold shower in the morning. Guest guest
Hello, Would you please explain more about almond oil. Where does it fit? Thank you, Agali --- Dharam Singh <dharam wrote: > "If I, with my body, can conquer the chilliness of > the water, I can take away the chilliness of my > life" > YB > > Cameron wrote: > > > Is it ok to take a cold shower if: > > > > A) It is cold outside and my house is cold. > > I personally must have the inside of house warm > before I am willing to jump into a cold shower. Guest guest
--- Agali <agali_2000 wrote: > Hello, > > Would you please explain more about almond oil. > Where does it fit? I rub my entire body with almond oil before getting into the cold shower. (except for my face, becuase i will break out) Then while i'm taking the shower, i do breath of fire, while massaging the almond oil into my skin. (i rub very quickly and this also helps me feel warmer and more comfortable) I think someone on the list mentioned that almond oil has the same benefits as soap, but makes the skin softer and glow. Hope this helps. Siri Gian Singh Buy the perfect holiday gifts at Shopping.
