Guest guest
POSTING TO THE KUNDALINI YOGA MAILING LIST (This file is sent to new rs, and is posted to the list as a reminder at the start of every month). The Kundalini Yoga List is a forum for all who practise or wish to learn about the art, science and technology that is Kundalini Yoga, and for the promotion and discussion of all related matters. This document is a brief summary of simple Netiquette, to help our list operate for the benefit of all our rs. Especially if you are new to computers and the Internet, take some time out to become acquainted with its contents. If anything is not clear, then ask - kundaliniyoga-owner For a more complete coverage you will need to check out our Mailing List FAQ - obtainable via autoresponder - faq - or viewable on our Web site - kundalini yogafaq.html 1. Send your messages to Kundaliniyoga (the posting address). 2. Do NOT send any requests to this address. Full instructions are contained in every message footer. 3. Keep messages and replies, clear, corteous, concise and on-topic. 4. Do not insert file attachments, pictures, etc. To remove the risk of virus infection, these will be stripped out automatically. 5. When replying avoid excessive quoting. Delete old headers & footers, and only include enough of the original to place your contribution in context. This is especially important when replying to Digest messages. Remember, some folk have to pay to download this stuff - make sure they get value for money! 6. Do not post "I agree" messages. Only post if you have something of substance to add. If you want to thank someone for their help, then please mail them directly, and not via the list. 7. Insure your header conveys your message subject accurately. If replying to a message where this has not been done by the previous poster, then please change the subject accordingly. 8. Do not forward any of the posts you receive to others outside of the list, without first contacting the original poster for permission. 9. DRUGS - Yogi Bhajan has stated many times that drug taking has no place in the practice of Kundalini yoga. As this subject has caused controversy on the list in the past, and consumed a lot of bandwidth, it has been ruled off-topic. Please do not start a thread on this subject, nor reply to anyone else who does. 10. Any queries about list rules and administration policy should be raised off-list - kundaliniyoga-owner 11. No personal announcements, including "good causes" unless cleared in advance with the List Owner. (address as 10 above) 12. Take "private" jokes, conversations, etc. off-list. 13. Flaming. We are proud of the helpful & friendly atmosphere we have established, and will work hard to maintain it. Flaming will be frowned upon, and persistent flamers will be warned, have posting privileges withdrawn, or d, at the List Owner's discretion. The same will apply to anyone acting as a 'troll' (making deliberately provocative statements) or anyone making scurrilous personal attacks, or whose activities and general conduct can be construed as being detrimental to the best interests of other rs. 14. Possible virus warnings/Internet hoax messages must not be sent to the list. If something concerns you, then forward it to kundaliniyoga-owner 15. SPAM (bulk unsolicited email). Any list r who posts commercial SPAM (messages sent for personal gain, normally in connection with an on-line business of some kind) to this list will be banned immediately. In serious cases, a net abuse report will be forwarded to their ISP via SpamCop, and also to eGroups for further action by them. Senders of non-commercial SPAM will receive ONE warning only and may also be put on no-mail status, at the discretion of the list owner! (If you do not understand the term SPAM, then you are strongly advised to read up about it!) 16. Those who chose to continually ignore these simple guidelines will quickly find themselves moved to moderated status. Finally, please use the list to help with your practise and to aid your learning. If you are not sure of something - ASK! The only stupid question is the one that is never asked. We have many knowledgeable rs who will gladly leap to your assistance. Sat Nam!
