Guest guest
Any suggestions for anxiety attacks and someone who also has eating disorders, plus drinks too much alcohol? Everything is in excess in this person's life. I don't know if they will meditate, but I am trying to help. Sat Nam, Nirmal Kaur

Guest guest
Anxiety is the flip-side of desire. There is no way to beat the attacks until this person slows down and looks inside, regulates sleep and diet. I once decided to meditate during an anxiety attack instead of taking the prescribed solution, and although it was difficult, I managed to beat the attack. The hallucinations during the meditation were quite vivid, and these images unfolded faster everytime I became a witness to them, and let them go. -thomas - <PamENixon <Kundaliniyoga> Sunday, December 09, 2001 7:40 PM RE: anxiety attacks > Any suggestions for anxiety attacks and someone who also has eating > disorders, plus drinks too much alcohol? Guest guest
Perhaps this person would be willing to try long deep breathing to some healing/relaxing music if s/he is not willing to meditate. The person may be more open to "relaxing." This could be a step in the right direction.

Or even offer to do it with him until a level of comfort has been achieved. Someone going through an anxiety attack is usually extremly afraid of everything at that point. A shoulder to lean on or to hold is of great value.
