Anybody out there with me on the new years millet diet? One week and I am

feeling good. Now that I'm doing this I find myself wondering why don't always

eat this way? For a delicious addition to my diet I bought some Sushi Nori and

cut the sheets into 4 squares. I dab a heaping spoonful of tofu-millet-veggie

mixture onto the square of nori and wrap it up for a bite size millet/tofu

sushi ball. yum. I am also blessed with unemployment (I think an unemployment

check is coming Har Har Gobinday) and have had time to do more yoga. Yeah!

I bought a brand new video by Nirvair Singh Khalsa (the Alaska Yoga guy)

called 'Weight Loss with Kundalini Yoga' it is different from my good old stand

by 'Fat Free Yoga' by Ravi Singh but I like them both. Nirvairs' video has 35

min yoga set, fairly gentle and focused on moving and clearing the system,

demonstating adaptations to poses, meditations to promote self care and healing

from the past, demonstartions of yoga walking & running, and some lifestyle

tips. I give it a thumbs up. I mangaed to get a few of his other videos through

inter-library loan once at my public library. I liked them and hope to buy more

when I can afford it. I would recommend his videos to the Yoga Tech shop. I've

also been using my video, 'Kundalini Yoga with Strength & Grace' by Carol

Carlson. This one is more demanding but very powerful. Lots of Breath-O-Fire,

after doing this set 3 days in a row I know I feel & walk different, more

strenghth, more grace.

As Nirvair sez: don't forget to drink your water.

Hi Devinderjit,

You're inspiring me. I do mung beans and rice (kitcheree) as a staple and my

weight is sort of okay as a result and I have my cravings under

control but I really would like to lose maybe 15 pounds.

Folks are maybe still just getting through the last of the Egg Nog (God help

me!).

Stay pumped! I know how good sticking to such a diet can feel.

Contemplating Kitcheree wrapped in Nori,

Dharam

P.S. We had Nirvair Singh come to our Fall Festival in Millis, Ma as a teaching

guest. Additionally, I used to live in Fairbanks and the Anchorage

crew would come up in the latter part of the year for a visit and taste a real

winter (spoken with a Paul Hogan Aussie twang)
